Shouldn't your proxy handle that automatically? yikes I mean, if you request a webpage you just enter the address. Basically that's what the UpdateChecker does, it requests a simple webpage and gets the content of it. What changes did you make to the .cmd? Since I'm not sure what the exact issue is.

I agree on that one. Just take a look at uawiki.org. Many people are posting QUESTIONS there instead of new information. And others DO post useful new information, but do it in their own style instead of according to the guidelines. Quite frustrating.

IF it becomes a wiki, then it will be a very strict one.

Every one can be a beta tester. But as soon as I notice that you're asking more noobie questions than actually testing things and sending feedback, you will no longer be. It's just that I don't want to create EXTRA work by letting EVERY ONE test the beta versions. wink

As long as you use all official DriverPacks, you won't have to worry about it. It's all been taken care of.

If you're using some other BIG 3rd party DriverPacks, then you might want to use method 2, since the limit is higher there.

This is due to the KB913425 hotfix that is slipstreamed into several OS versions IF DriverPack Sound (A or B) is being slipstreamed. Amongst those OSes is Windows 2000 SP4.

But the portcls.sys file SHOULD be present though.

I will try to locate the cause for this bug.

1. Becoming a Translator
1. Get in touch with an Admin: Click on the E-Mail link on one of OverFlow's or Wim's posts.
2. Make sure you have both an account here at the forum AND at the bugtracker.
3. We'll make you a Translator here at the forum, and an Updater at the bugtracker.
- This allows users to report bugs in your translations
- You will be notified
- You will then have the permissions to make the necessary changes (Acknowledge)
- then submit changes back to us (Assigned to),
     so we can either
        a) put them in the next release (resolved/fixed).
        b) submit them back to you for additional changes (Feedback)

2. The translating itself
1. Get DriverPacks BASE 8.12.1 or better.
2. Navigate to the 'lng' folder and copy 'English.lng'.
3. Paste it in the 'lng' folder and rename it to '<language name in English>.lng' (e.g.: 'French.lng' and NOT 'Français.lng')
4. Open up your favorite text editor and start translating.

Notes:
-When you don't know where an entry exactly belongs, enter "" (nothing) as translation. The GUI will then show the entry that must be entered in the .lng file.
-For complete translating+GUI debugging pleasure: open your DPs_BASE.ini and enter "debug" as your prefLang. Now that is some descriptive GUI! tongue
-The at first sight oddly placed '&' signs are actually useful: they allow you to set a keyboard combination to press a button or to select a radio button. e.g."

entry = "&Browse"

Creates the shortcut {ALT} + {b} to press this button through the keyboard instead of clicking on it.
-Note that currently only the GUI-specific strings are multilingual! (And the strings on the overview page cannot yet all be translated.)

3. Maintaining language files.
The more you use the bugtracker, the more you offload my job. And the cleaner this forum can be kept. So, please DO use the bugtracker whenever it's reasonable to do so.

1. Users can submit bugs at the bugtracker, that includes typo's to your language files. As a translator, you will get the user level 'updater' at the bugtracker. That allows you to assign bugs to someone and to change the status of an issue (like 'confirmed' and 'resolved'). All changes you make here will automatically be included in the changelog.
2. When you change the status of an issue to 'resolved', I expect you to attach the fixed file. DON'T POST UPDATES FOR YOUR TRANSLATIONS HERE IN THE FORUM (Again, doesn't clutter the forum, and easy to track for me. The forum is just meant for discussing translations: for suggesting improvements etc.)

Note 1: your first release can (MUST, actually) be added to the bugtracker as well.
Note 2: EACH TIME YOU UPDATE YOUR TRANSLATION, YOU MUST SUBMIT IT TO the bugtracker AND MARK IT AS 'RESOLVED'!!!

You've all three been added to the group of beta testers.

I'm currently still testing it myself though. It seems the slipstreamer is partially broken (the GUI is completely debugged as far as I can tell), it crashes during the PREP process. I should still get it online, but it might become late tongue

And I will NOT write this 'custom website' myself, it's just that php.net has not opensourced the code behind it, so I'd have to find a project that does something similar (30 secs of searching came up with nothing).
