Topic: BUG: portcls.sys not found during Windows 2000 Setup

Hi,

Windows 2000 Professional SP4 Setup stops in the "blue" phase asking for "portcls.sys". As I found out, integrating "DriverPack Sound A 6.06.1" changes dosnet.inf instructing Windows Setup to copy portcls.sys, but the file itself is missing. But it is contained in DRIVER.CAB and SP4.CAB.
So, the slipstreaming process seems to modify the dosnet.inf incorrectly. Why is dosnet.inf modified because of a Sound-specific driverpack? I thought this would only happen if "DriverPack MassStorage text mode" is selected?

Re: BUG: portcls.sys not found during Windows 2000 Setup

This is due to the KB913425 hotfix that is slipstreamed into several OS versions IF DriverPack Sound (A or B) is being slipstreamed. Amongst those OSes is Windows 2000 SP4.

But the portcls.sys file SHOULD be present though.

I will try to locate the cause for this bug.

I don't see anything that could be wrong, at least not at first sight.

Please submit this bug at the bugtracker and upload your dosnet.inf file there too.

EDIT: it's already submitted, but I really need that file!
