Topic: QUESTION: So how long can the OemPnpDriversPath= line be?

How many driver packs can I fit into this line?  I assume it's a character limit?  Does the registry not have the limitation the .sif file has?  Can that huge line go into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DevicePath?

I assume this is too long!  I did just image a machine with the following line, and all the hardware installed correctly, but that doesn't mean the end of the line isn't being read.  I'm using all the driverpacks except the CPU and Mass Storage driver packs.  Thanks for the help!

OemPnpDriversPath= "D\C\A;...;D\W\Z\4"

Weird, so it cut off my long .sif file line I posted.  Anyway it's like 4700 characters.

As long as you use all official DriverPacks, you won't have to worry about it. It's all been taken care of.

If you're using some other BIG 3rd party DriverPacks, then you might want to use method 2, since the limit is higher there.

I see.  Thank you very much.  I'm only using your driver packs, and it is a wonderous achievement!  Thank you!
