Implementing in test version

I am implementing this in our test version now

there is a simple solution... perform the updates to your source in the recomended order. DriverPacks is always the LAST step. That is pretty simple.

If not then your source will be corrupted if you reinstall DriverPacks to your source. Even if you delete the .org files. The best thing to do is to make a copy of your source prior to adding DriverPacks. I make a backup before each step of my process. If you follow the proper procedure, by installing DriverPacks last, then you can run DriverPacks BASE with no packs selected and it will "uninstall" the DriverPacks and then you can make changes and then reinstall the DriverPacks. Reverting to a backup is safer and easier. I hope that helps. This is clearly documented in our tutorial. IE rtfm.

There is no simple or easy way to recover if the "install DriverPacks last" rule is broken. It may not even be possable.

run Disk Managment...

I can do that ... NP

LOL
Perhaps i could change it but no one ever mentioned it was annoying before tongue

That is intentional.

Provide the DL link to the driver and the HWIDs ...
CDOB hopefully will know what to do, he is a BartPE master big_smile

If adding the DriverPacks did not fix your NIC then disable the DriverPacks plugin and add your drivers manually

simply copy them to yourBartpefolder\drivers\yourdriverfolderhere\

and build and test, pretty easy

here is a no brainer way to find out

http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/p … hkYmRwKg==

That app is provided by vmware so users can easily determine if a machine is eligible to run a 64 bit version of an OS (be it windows, linux or other). Run it and you have your answer.

Can't make it any easier than that big_smile

PS are you going to try the 2k3 workstation route if you do in fact have a 64 bit machine? I would if you aren't interested in going with Win7. Vista and XP64 are garbage.

PSS It's entirely ok if you don't personally like NT6, you are certainly entitled to have an opinion. It's your machine after all. That was why I gave you several viable options and also offering the option of trying to help you fix / force the xp64 driver (though not recomended... lead a horse to water wink). Even after I said that my experience is that xp64 is not worth the trouble ;P.

You are welcome Yuriku,

Read what is here and do some trial deployments, once you have tried it feel free to ask anything you like. We really appreciate it when our users show that they have familarized themselfs with what is already here. Most of the time any queston you may have has already been answered... We have been doing this for over 7 years big_smile.

Welcome to DriverPacks.net

you are getting close now.

that nvidia problem was reported by another user you should be able to search our forum for that fix.

yes if you use SAD from a network location you will need the mass chipset and LAN drivers included with autoimage. if you can get autoimage to work then don't sweat the SAD method big_smile. Although SAD over the network will work great for updating a running machine if you are serviceing a unit big_smile. you may also find that it will take less total time to deploy by adding mass lan and chipset with AI, then calling SAD over the network for the remaining drivers, this would also avoid the 4 gig limit issue you fixed above (well done)

Check out the universal imageing forum  http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewforum.php?id=30  for some ideas about how to attack this issue there are several really good methods to choose from... the first one is very similar to your attempted KTD method BUT it calls the DriverPacks Finisher which makes a day and night difference for success. It also removes all the unneeded drivers from the machine after the deplyment big_smile. other posts explore SAD. SAD is also outlined in the FAQs.

if you have AutoImage working then you have the best solution for your needs in place... no need to over think it from there. I just tossed some other alternate options as an FYI in case you don't feel AI is the right fit for you.

No matter what you will need AutoImage to at least kick start your deployment.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out...
Please let us know how you're progressing!
you may save many other people countless hours of work! big_smile

HINT: you wont need to reinstall driverpacks (except mass storage) after you get this working. You can simply substitute packs to update them big_smile.

it creates two folders and a textfile
I386  folder contains the 32 bit version of devcon
IA64 folder contains the 64 bit version of devcon
Hint: double click on the one for your version of Windows Operating System (OS)

If you are not able to get that far on your own you need to seek help here http://www.msfn.org/
DriverPacks is not a noob friendly site, never has been and never will be. (this is clearly stated in our rules)
this forum is for the support of DriverPacks BASE and the DriverPacks only. Since your questions are not related to our app or our DriverPacks it is considered out of place. Mr_Smartepants asked you very nicely to learn to STFW. We will help a little with "other" questions and will allow some lattitude from time to time... But we will not hold your hand for you. I have pointed you to a site that will welcome you with open arms and will hold your hand for you big_smile. Thanks for visting our site and we will certainly welcome any DriverPacks related questions you may have in the future.

Have a great day

PS here is a link to help get you started with devcon, these are posts related to devcon at MSFN
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=partner-pu … project%2F

I had no trouble at all "searching the freaking web" (STFW) for Automating "6to4" Adapter Removal in Windows easily finding this  http://ryanvictory.com/posts/automating … n-windows/

It's only a waste of our time if you don't make any attempt at all to help yourself wink
Since you apologized for doing so, i thought i would toss you a bone big_smile.

no that solution will not be a universal image...
It will not install a huge number of the included drivers.
It might work on a very small number of machines at best and only of you don't include all the drivers.
and it will burn about 3gig of disk space for no reason.

Yes you MUST follow the instructions discussed in this forum... Years of trial and error by many experts in this method of deployment on thousands of machines have yeilded the results we have stickied as valid solutions. That is why they are there. PS this question has been asked answered many time before

Ah... NIce pickup Mr_S - I simply assumed based on his query that he had a 64 bit platform... My mistake

I am so glad you have my back! TY
