I'm not having this issue.

Marking as no bug until somebody can confirm this.

Note that this will *not* break KTD!

EDIT: topic closed due to lack of response.

@ Bâshrat the Sneaky

My problem was happening when I was using the DPs_BASE program.
Seems to happen with nLite and RayansVM also.
Sorry about the confusion.

Dave

Huh? How could you run the DriverPacks BASE during setup?

This is a bug in DriverPack Sound B then, it appears that the file does not exist.

Moved to DriverPack Sound forum.

Submitted to the bugtracker (http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=325) and resolved.

There is no such HWID pattern, I'm afraid. But I suppose you just mean USB WLAN adapters? Then just just the USB\ pattern. That will keep more than just the WLAN drivers, but that should not matter very much.

The patterns used in the FAQ should also be the most useful types of devices to keep the drivers for.

This bug also existed for the detection of MEULC's Dutch UpdatePack. Fixed now.

EDIT: also see the entry in the bugtracker: http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=324

Will try to reproduce.

Huh? The DriverPacks BASE doesn't run during setup, so that's impossible.

I re-did the integration and now I'm waiting for MS VM to install and I'll see if this gets fixed.
Are there any common reasons why a Winnt.sif file would ignore some of the answer file info?

Thanks Bashrat!

Only if you've disabled the unattended installation...

Haha nice find smile

Will fix this ASAP.

EDIT: submitted to the bugtracker: http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=323, and solved!

EDIT

Then this topic can now be closed. If somebody else still experiences this issue, start a new topic.

Then I'm afraid there isn't much I can do...

I'm sorry, I cannot reproduce this, nor can anybody else, because that would have been reported before. This'd be one of the most blatant bugs possible.

I'm quite sure you've open your txtsetup.sif file in an editor and then saved it as UTF-8...

Please retry with fresh Windows installation files!

mrreload, all drivers already have been installed by the time the Finisher runs wink It's just the installation of control panels and some work-arounds that it handles! wink

About your boot.ini issues: are you using a Athlon64 X2 CPU? In that case pmtimer.exe gets executed, which will edit your boot.ini, but it should not leave duplicate entries...

Wow. How come no one has noticed this before? This is a huge bug... Will look into this right away.

Solved now!

Done now smile

I've added the suggested work-around in the next version of the BASE: the permissions of the desktop.ini in your Startup directory (or whatever it's called in your language) will have its attributes reset, to renable the SYSTEM and HIDDEN attributes.

Thank you all for your suggestions and sorry for taking so long to solve this odd, yet most annoying issue.

Very strange that it does work with a manual installation... I'll leave this topic open for somebody to bump it when he/she experiences the same problem.

It's impossible that the BASE has "moved your winnt.sif settings to an unattended.txt file". You must have named it unattended.txt before slipstreaming. Also, the BASE definitely doesn't touch the key code and timezone entries.

Well, Promise has been working surprisingly well for a very long time (many, many months), but perhaps it's now time to rethink the whole current implementation.

@qik_shift: would it be possible for you to post the HWID of your Promise SATA378 controller? Check my sig for a tool.

trickie69r, well I'm no magician either and I cannot think of any other reason why it would work in the past and now not anymore. I'm sorry.

Nice to hear you've been visiting this site for so long though smile

Next version as in 7.02 or 7.01.1 ?.
I suppose 7.02 isn't that far of anymore, but a 7.01.1 update would be great(er ! :-)).

Thx.

ps. sorry for the double post, I noticed this thread to late.

7.01.1 is very possible.
