Topic: [SOLVED] Finisher changing attributes?

Problem like this one with 7.0.1.2, did not happen with 7.0.1.1:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 46&p=1

Basically, what's happening is that the hidden and system attributes are removed from files and directories they should be on in the administrative user's profile.  The most obvious result of this is that the desktop.ini file that is in the startup directory pops up in notepad, and shows up elsewhere in the start menu.  However, if you investigate further, you will notice these attributes are missing elsewhere as well, such as the Application Data directory.

Using nLite to slipstream sp2, RVM packs, .net, WGA.  Then running dpbase and integrating everything but WLAN, CPU, and Sound A.

Only happens when Finisher is run at GUIRunOnce, does not happen when using 937 runonceex. Using Method 2.  KTD is enabled - I haven't tried turning it off yet. QSC is on as well.

Anyways, thought you'd want to know.

Thanks for all your hard work, everyone!

Re: [SOLVED] Finisher changing attributes?

Nowhere in the Finisher there is code that alters file attributes, that much I can assure you. I suspect it has something to do with KTD though, and more specifically with the Windows API functions that are used to apply KTD.

Re: [SOLVED] Finisher changing attributes?

That makes sense.  I figured it was happening during the finisher because of the difference between it running in guirunonce and runonceex.  Not a big deal, but if you have more people run in to it, it seems like the best solutions are to not run KTD all (though I haven't tested the other methods), or to use runonceex instead of guirunonce.  Definitely not a show stopper.

Thanks again!

Re: [SOLVED] Finisher changing attributes?

any hope to fix this permanently... maybe changing in some way ktd interfaces itself with windows api sad

or if it's not possible, maybe you can temporary fix it adding, in the finisher, a command to set desktop.ini +h and +s as last step after ktd is completed

or again, you can replace finisher code using the one in text mode written by jtdoom (post number 46 here http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 6&p=2)

I tested and it works fine smile

what do you think about that?
