thanks for visting.
if it were easy then everyone would be doing it
and they wouldnt pay well for developers.
laptops are always a PITA perhaps someone will jump in here and make a suggestion.
did youtry installing with all the packs selected yet?
so do the math your starting at 0 then subtract 100k you won't be able to own anything any time soon either....
this topic is now closed...
if you like please test... confirmation would be awsome!
however i think you have answered my question about method already.
and we can probably proceed in the correct direction based on your input.
sorry for the misunderstanding
Bâshrat the Sneaky was refering to the new site he is rolling out
our forum software is lame and he is going to develop a custom site with drupal.
we are not currently useing drupal.
it is my understanding that google uses drupal - is that a nudge in the correct direction?
you are most welcome!
most people just add the packs and don't have to worry about it ever again...
that is what we do and why we're here...
if you use the HWID tool in my sig and post your HWID's we may be able to put you over the top...
this driver is not in our sound pack...
and i was unable to find even a basic generic match on the HWID...
if you can find it please let us know so we can add it
Hi bj2tall,
Welcome to DriverPacks.net
I am sad to report that you probably will not find what you are looking for here.
We use our software to slipstream (integrate) drivers with Win 2000, XP and 2003 server installation disks.
Vista is not supported and we have few (if any) vista drivers in the packs and therefore no user base for vista either.
also we don't find drivers for hardware our users provide missing drivers to us and request we add them.
I have seen people post for drivers here, and get lucky with a reply, but not usually.
Thanks for Posting here at DriverPacks and we are always glad to help when we can.
Oops *edit*
just noticed the title of your post - must be getting tired
brb
the reason you are not getting the functionality you are looking for is you have no packs available or selected.
the 3rd party DriverPack are meant to be an add-on to the official packs.
additionally you will not be able to support any HDD controller drivers through the use of 3rd party DriverPack
the disabler and finisher are only called if at least one official pack is slipstreamed.
if i were you i would choose mass storage.
hope that helps
cool stuff...
thanks for the good info...
i dont have the oportunity to deal with medical hardware this is all new to me.
nice pickup on the driver mr_smartepants.
I am not a lawyer -
it is my understanding that it is wrong and that they could and might take legal action for what you are intending to do.
I can't give you legal advise, however, if you don't have more money that MS it is unlikely a court battle would go your way.
I personaly have spent thousands on OS's - including a personal MSDN membership.
My clients buy thiers as well and some of my clients have also susbcribed to MSDN to explore options.
If something works for you then buy it.
PS the donate button on this site works for that too.
Then if you want to hack your copy of 2003 server into 2003 workstation
on your machine with your valid license that is up to you.
i have a server licence set aside for my UBCD4Win cd.
Good tools cost money and usually they are worth it.
Hi Sull,
Thanks for posting here at DriverPacks
the second two links in my sig please.
yes i bleive the public routinly buy their software.
redistributing windows with or without the key is, i belive, a copyrite violation (your distributing copys).
not only that they are not original copys. you have hacked them.
if you wish to distribute your work i suggest you do so as a package that can be added to the users own copy. IMO
since the name of the file is unique teh tag name should be the same as the original file name
we only change the tag name if it is a duplicate name.
so ms_1_tag="pf4310"
should be
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="Promise FastTrak TX4310"
ms_1_tag="fttxr5_O"
ms_1_sysFile="fttxr5_O.sys"
ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_3515"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false
ms_1_exc_disableIfOS="w2k"
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="2k3"
We already have too many drivers for 2000 -
to enable this one for use with 2000 we must pick another one to disable or we will get memory errors
ms_1_exc_disableIfOS="w2k"
this driver does not show support for 2k3
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="2k3"
nice work - mass storage is a tough pack
that may just do the trick...
hi jaak!
Hi Der-Matze
Welcome to Driverpacks.net and thanks for being here.
It's awesome to see a first post from a user with such good details.
HWID, description of the device, method used, pack version, trouble shooting you did,
[REQ] in the title, posted in the correct forum, and a link to the driver.
I almost fell out of my chair! Woot!
I also agree - you have found a driver that is not included in the packs.
Thanks for taking the time to make your request and doing it so well.
I hope you continue to contribute here.
have a great day and keep your eyes peeled for a test pack to show up soon.
PS be sure you click on the subscribe button (subscriptions on this forum are sadly not automatic).
you have already included your relevant HWID no further info is required (unless its the wrong HWID )
only if you promise to report back if it works for you
RC1 (Release Candidate) is still beta as far as Microsoft Corporation is concerned.
It also has a 180 day time bomb in it so don’t use it in production machines – it’s only for testing purposes
IE it will have to be uninstalled or the final release will have to be installed over it
So if you are thinking that you are saving yourself time over useing sp2 and slipstreaming post SP2 patches then your mis-informed.
Until MS releases the final version of SP3 you will still need to slipstream SP2 and the post SP2 patches for end user machines.

“Assisted support (telephone, e-mail, and online chat) is not available from Microsoft Support for this release of Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).â€
Report back to us if you need help.
i was not able to send you mail :-(
if i could have sent it to the email you registered with you would have a copy now!
@jakeld
feel free to contact me, I will gladly help.
not sure what happened to jaak, he has been MIA for a few days...
hello Logos302
Welcome to DriverPacks.net and we're all glad your here.
Sorry i didnt see your post right away...
First line of attack on this problem should be with RogueSpear author of AutoImage (and one of my Unattended Windows heros).
as far as what info we need there is a link in my sig for that
but please check at RogueSpears forum first, as i think your issue lies with AutoImage and not with DriverPacks
http://www.doitrightconsulting.net/foru … ic.php?t=3
be sure to tell them which versions of software you are useing
autoimage version
DriverPacks BASE version
DriverPack MassStorage version
include your autoimage log
and also let them know it's for 2003 R2 SP2 as you posted for us.
if you need additional help or info we are glad to be of service any time.
have a great day and hope to see you here often
NO we should avoid RIS drivers for use with the packs
based on the provider saying it is not recomended for regular windows.
i can only assume it is for a valid reason...
but not knowing the reason - i can't say it won't work for sure...
which is why cdob recommended useing exceptions in the ini like we do for mass storage.
this presents an additional issue
we dont support the RIS / sysprep platform in base so there is no platform available in base to use to apply the exception.
Hello LittleFish!
welcome to driverpacks.net!
Nightly builds are for testing team members -
Since you are new here you are not on the testing team... and therefore would not be able to find it.
Beta releases are not officially supported - MS does not support it, neither do we... (RC [Release Candidates] are still beta)
When MS releases SP3 we are ready and will officially release support for it.
Thanks for your interest and hope to see you here often!
ps you have mail...
good idea however only mass storage base code uses the exception features presently.
I think it is inevitable that the other packs will have to recieve an upgrade so they may be "tagged" as well
I have considered it several times.
I just put up a beta that uses a new method for chipset
I seriously considered it for chipset because it is also a seperate module in base,
however it would require a great deal of code to be written.
not as much codeing as required for the rest of the packs (because it is its own module)
makeing the exceptions work for all packs would be a LOT of work.
I would need to be motivated to take that on.
the only reason i did chipset is because jaak is so awsome to everyone.
and it was his request to address the problems with hardcoded folders in that pack.
when people are polite, respectful provide feedback and are helpful to others that motivates me
PS you definately fall into the motivator category too cdob!
thanks!!!
