perhaps - but it's not absolutely neccesary

I think you just reinforced my point...

if you must modify the image in order / before to use it
then you can't have one image for all of them can you...

sysprep is an option too... but then its not JUST a ghost image anymore is it?
its a unified installation.

and it will take a LOT more time to do as you suggest than to make two or three images that will be much cleaner in the end.

@jakeld

where ya been???
I added your name to the list, and poof your gone...

It would certainly be nice to have a few dozen people brought up to speed and actively involved in grooming the packs.
It is tough to find people who wish to, and then can, find the time to give back to the community for free.
It's hard work and it is often taken for granted. I wish there was an easy answer.

did you make the name all capital letters after you cabbed it?

you can use any mechanisim you like to run the finisher includeing launching it manually.
(the finisher is, quite often, not even required except to remove the packs and related files)

not sure about the msdos initiated line. No means we are useing a CD? do you intend to boot from floppies?

MsDosInitiated = "0"
If this setting is on "0" it will inform Setup that you are installing from CD, put a value of 1
if you use only diskettes to boot.

i belive you are correct about OemPreinstall=Yes  - you tell us wink

PS the RC version of base will probably work better for you. it addresses the setupold.exe issue.

it is under the "document" menu  "OCR Text Recognition"...
in version 8 of acrobat professional -
i am not an adobe guru - i have done this a couple of times and know it can be done.
please, rtfm... and don't stray extremely far from the scope of the forum
(kinda far is acceptable wink )

thanks, hope this helped...

with distiller you can print to a PDF then use acrobat to OCR the PDF...

so scan then print... then open the pdf (that resulted from your print) with acrobat and run the OCR. save as pdf or export.

jaak was explaining how you could create it...

perhaps we can return the favor - after a little work on the pack - thanks again...

did his hwid get added to the vinyl driver it shows that it only made a generic match on that folder.
it should be a full match if we added the hwid to the inf?????

yup that is the exact place from the file we need

Very well done!...

it looks like we have broken signing issues with the drivers

it really doesn't like the vinyl and the realtek looks sick too

the INI section trick may need to be a FAQ if a solution is not found.

on some laptops the si3112 bios doesn't offer raid mode (and why would it since only one internal hdd bay is available)

Idealy you would have enough experience to find the part we need and post that...

perhaps a search for Realtek AC'97 Audio will bring you to the right place and you could just post the needed part...

Email me is an option if this is a bit too much to ask...
thanks for helping us to help you... as jaak likes to say

I may have an idea why ...
i think \d\s\ may be hardcoded into the finisher
i may need to do some codeing to make it work without the \s\
i will slot some time to fix the third party pack issue and see if i am right about this one too.

however only the api log will tell us why the vinyl driver got passed over as the best choice

there are a hundred ways to get there...

which adobe program do you have?
(and i am not talking about the free reader)
I like distiller and acrobat...

You are able to use a single drive with the controller in raid mode. I do.

You can't switch a drive from base to raid or from raid to base without fomatting it though.

that means that you machine is blocking referrers -
the server only will allow you to download if the request comes from the correct page. (the "referring" page)
direct links to the download will fail. (leeching is not allowed)

since the HDD is connected to the si3112...

you have teh same problem i do when i reload ... go into your bios and turn on raid for the SI3112...

your problem should be solved...

or you can put the Base driver ahaid of the raid driver in the mass INI

sadly i need another big file

can you please send me the setupapi.log ?
