the DriverPacks are free, this is not a job and we don't have a scheduale to meet...
We will release them when they are ready.
It is considered rude by the team to be 'pushy' in this manner.

"As soon as possable" was your answer. Please be patient.

When they are ready they will be released...
The bottom line is... We want to release them as much as you want them released smile

Please try to be respectful of the time we DONATE.

the key to finding out what did or did not work is in the setupapi.log wink
You might also find the dpinst.log useful.

Nothing, I repeat... Nothing, is as effective as having the drivers available during setup. (RIS)
However the redistributable MS tool DPInst.exe is the best 'Software First' option there is...
DPInst is the Core of SAD

as far as how you took my comments... if you would have substituted your second reply with the third... wink
My time here is free but that does not mean you (anyone) have a right to waste it, and if i feel that you (someone) are...

I don't normaly apologize (In fact I don't think I ever have on this forum)... But I like your style... I am sorry.

DriverPacks must be the last step in your process...

You did not follow the directions / DriverPacks tutorial.  That is what you are doing wrong... wink

PS Don't remove drivers with nLite that will also blow you up!

I like the 2002 space age best

you might want to take advantage of the "split" feature when you archive wink

Apparently you did not read what i wrote....

SAD does what you want... it installs all the drivers in the packs automatically

Run DriverPacks BASE and select SAD... not only is it possible but i have already told you how.

Create a SAD Disc or network repository and run DP_Inst_Tool.cmd it automatically installs drivers.

SAD does what you want... Try it before you ASSUME i did not understand you.

The KEY is paying attention...

I also told you how to address the IE issue...

I also told you using RIS will eliminate going to the machine at all

Please attempt the solutions offered FIRST, then report back if you have questions.

Lets assume the partition is valid

You could simply 7zip the HDD to a file and then use 7zip to restore the file system.
You will not get better compression from any utility that I am aware of.

If the partition needs help diskpart, fixboot, fixmbr and format can be scripted and i belive are found on the PE disc.

simple and effective wink

Here is your answer in case you don't want to read all the stuff below - DriverPacks BASE SAD feature.

The best solution is RogueSpears AutoImage which will allow you to do a RIS install.
That eliminates the CD and related space issues altogether.

Batch scripting software installs is effective but clumsy, I would suggest you take a look at Windows Post Installer (WPI).
Since you already have the switches required to automate the install, adding them to the interface would be a breeze.
It is a ery powerful tool that allows multiple configurations, will auto continue if a reboot is required and is just pretty darned slick.

DriverPacks BASE has a feature called SAD (Stand Alone Drivers) this feature will allow you to create either a network repository or a CD with all of the DriverPacks. That will cure your driver issues, however I would like to point out if you used RIS with DriverPacks then your drivers would simply be installed with the OS an eliminate the need to use SAD.

I personaly carry a DVD and a USB to IDE converter. You can either hang a DVD on the machine (It is always a good idea to open the case so you can verify that the CPU fan has not become a dust bunny nest. smile) or use the USB option if the box supports boot to usb. a DVD is 20 dollars and a USB to IDE is even less. wink

The RVMIntegrator and nLite can both add IE to your install quite easily. There are several IE7 AddOns for RVMI and many RVMI addons can be added with nLite.

IF a CAT is not signed by WHQL it is worthless. So createing a CAT is a waste of time.

if it says chicago or Windows NT you can try it anyway... no extra steps need be taken.

"Or...  Maybe that's why some aren't signed (don't have cat)...  Drivers CAN'T pass, but work anyway and are the desired driver"   YES! - now you have it

PS more info is in mr_smartepants post here http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 610#p27610

if you cant answer simple questions like telling us the version number.
And it is obviously not the most recent as you said - don't lie to us - we know better.

(or providing your base log which is almost always required for support) I will close this thread.

modifying the presetup file is also not supported, and your version above is not valid at all and won't even be called.

Post your log.

This method is not supported and since a DVD is 20.00 it is a no brainer to replace it.

Cincy is not an available area for the radio... but I will keep an "ear" out for the webcasts.

Thanks for Posting you have helped to make DriverPacks better for everyone.

Have a great day!

If you choose only "DriverPack MassStorage text mode" and you have SATA/AHCI option on in the BIOS then you get a Bluescreen after the first Windows XP loading screen.

This is because if you only slipstream textmode drivers then the Plug and Play drivers are not available to WinPE or Windows (Since you did not include them) so it will BSOD. Some drivers don't need thier PnP counterparts, these will work fine (Like IDE drivers). I recomend useing mass text and regular mass as a set.

If you only select mass textmode no OEM folder is created.
(it is not neccessary to select custom for the finisher. if no packs are selected the finisher will not be added wink )

The simple answer is "You can't add DriverPacks and not end up with an OEM folder"
UNLESS... You don't plan on supporting mass storage drivers that will require their PnP counterparts. wink

I am 99% sure that this is not a driver issue... so hwids will not help

FORGET THE CAT!

EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS IN THE INF... got it?

you might as well ask if you can tell if the driver is suitable from an MD5 checksum...

the algorithm used is not well documented... after the install you can look at the setupapi.log for clues.
HWID then signing then date is the basic format.
$Chicago$ means ALL
$Windows NT$ usually means any windows 5.x OS

Since most drivers are not well written you can't get a good answer, wink
this is primarily because many OEMs do not stick to established standards and
in fact they will often times will create conflicts with the chipset provided reference drivers.
L7 and L8 are a perfect example of the problem.
This is either because of
1 their failure to understand the "big picture" or
2 perhaps they just don't care or
3 no one ever made them do it correctly - IE WHQL Doesn't reject drivers that they should have.
for the most part, signing is just a PITA because of so many very poorly written drivers.

We do our absolute best to keep signing on every single driver in the DriverPacks.
We want you to get the driver from us exactly as we found it on the providers server,
but the providers make it almost impossible for us.

The most desirable feature of the cat is...
if a file is altered signing will be broken and you know it has been altered...
(an md5 hash would be just as useful given the poor quality that is allowed currently wink)

PS The only truly important info (for matching a driver to hardware) is the HWID in the inf...
That is what decides if a driver is suitable or not. the rest is smoke and mirrors,
at least until the powers that be actually force them to write drivers correctly before signing is granted

As things stand right now CATs are good for petting if you are lonely wink

hope that helps big_smile

We have several drivers that match on PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829 (super generic match)
i was not able to find a specific match to either
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829&SUBSYS_022F1028 or
PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0106 in the pack

We will see what we can do...
Normaly a link is considered polite, but the name of the file and site works just as well! Thanks!
R166200 here!

not sure about the SAS but I can fix the TX4...
You have a DMA or Interrupt conflict. On many old intel boards the interupts are physically tied to the slots.

Simply move the card to another slot wink big_smile

I bet I know where you could find a few hundred thousand people you could get to give you a good reference wink

So glad we could help each other !

i will need to harden BASE against this type of problem in the future...

i am going to sticky this as a reminder to me to address this issue.

update status to BUG, Move to BartPE forum, and sticky

If you would be so kind, Please report this at the bugtracker!
In the bug report could you describe the exact steps I would need to take to reproduce the issue you reported.
