please, we don't buy into all that fear mongering do we?  Run a good anti virus, have a backup plan. Have fun. big_smile

you can edit the first post with current links (and leave the historical links ... or not)

Awesome to get good feedback on SDI since it's new to us here at DriverPacks.net.
It looks very comprehensive, looking forward to trying it myself.

RyperX is right... quit hijacking my thread man! tongue

As you have discovered now this has to do with nested driver installation. USB depends on Chipset. Since you did not integrate your chipset drivers into your install WIM your OS is not ready to install the USB drivers. you can run SAD a second time or the best thing to do is to add DriverPack MassStorage and DriverPack Chipset to your setup and install WIM files, this keeps the size of the wim down and eliminates nested driver issues.

Best of luck

Jeff

Let us know in that thread and here how that works, he just posted it here and we are not familiar with it yet.

If it can force the install in one pass that is very cool, I think i would still reboot after though tongue.

this issue and other related issues are covered extensively in the two how to topics stickied in this forum.
(this has been asked and answered multiple times)

DriverPacks.net itself (the team and the software) does not directly support sysprep. Although fellow users and friends of DriverPacks will respond if they see your post. you should see Read BEFORE you post. also linked in my signature so you can properly update your first post with some useful info. There is no hint as to what you may, or may not have, done as it reads now.  Most noticeably absent is what the target OS [and update level] is???  (that might help sad). See if you can't rewrite it in the spirit of rule # 6 from Read BEFORE you post..

hint: Check the setupapi.log file of an affected machine for your cause.

this was explained to you in the other thread.

it's a nested driver issue.  you can't install a secondary driver if the primary driver is not installed.

you can't install USB driver if Chipset driver is not installed first.
you can't install an agp video card driver if the AGP driver is not installed first.

Nested drivers will require a second pass and possibly a reboot and a second pass.
If chipset drivers are slip-streamed into your source this is rare.

you will have to inject the dirvers into each WIM image separately, since each image is separated how could they conflict?

well if it supports your hardware then you are good to go.

the "All" folder would be the only other one. the Win7 folder is for drivers that ONLY support win7, the all folder supports all NT6 platforms. the combination of All plus your specific OS would be a complete set.

Much better info and question, Welcome to DriverPacks.net

please read Read BEFORE you post. TY

not enough info to advise.

which version of PE? Who's build / version?
What download? (link maybe)

this isn't the psychic forum.

That looks pretty cool BP. Going to have to take that for a ride.

I don't think it would be a lot of trouble to put the INF and CAT files in the same stream,
I believe we are already putting the INF in a separate stream now..
What command line do you use for that?
-OOPS... BadPointer already answered that in his other post here:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 538#p57538

Are all NT5 and NT6 platforms supported.... or what?

Thanks for stopping by and sharing, it seems pretty awesome from the description.

and thanks for posting a link to us on your page big_smile
- Most of the others don't.

one or the other.

if it's in the pack then we DON'T want it in the "drivers" folder.

Really... you didn't read the tutorials? the ones stickied in this very forum?... Really?

RTFM... then ask.

NICE find cdob! Try to add that one driver like this:

http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/help/english/drivers.htm

if you drop it into the x:\PEBuilder\drivers\Net\-HereIsGood-
and rebuild

cdob will correct me if that won't work tongue.

NIC card is redundant... like ATM machine tongue

Yeah cdob and I both warned you that newer chipsets will be tough to support on NT5.

The link i presented above demonstrates how a user can force a driver to install for XP. that doesn't mean it will work, but it might. the example was for mass storage but the mechanics are the same. let us know.

The pertinent information was provided above. By you. big_smile  (the HWID's)

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A&SUBSYS_220E17AA&REV_04\3&21436425&0&C8: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-LM

seems to be it, even Intel does not support NT5 platforms (officially)
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Search … on+I217-LM

it's possible a driver could be shoe-horned in place for PE LOL.

google the HWID or description for more info "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A"

I added code tags to your post to make the thread more readable. If you like, you can edit your post to see how that is done.

Looks like we need a driver for
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C03&SUBSYS_220E17AA&REV_04
AKA
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C03&CC_010601
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C03&CC_0106

if we google  PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C03&CC_0106

We find stuff, like links to MSFN.ORG. ( We like MSFN big_smile )

http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/107504- … try1057717

Looks like DriverPack MassStorage version 12.x may work???
Fernando also has a custom driver that may work.

Please report your results here and there, Thanks!
We would like to include a working driver if we can.

you may have to use a PE3 build to get there. NT5 drivers may not ever be available for some new hardware as we move forward.

We will certainly add them if available. Post your HWIDs using the tool in my signature.

I'm gettin old tongue

yeah there is an order. I just gave it to you.  It used to be plastered every where around here, it's for sure in the tutorial linked in my signature. the examples given in the tutorial are on a very old version of DriverPacks BASE, but are basically all still valid big_smile.

To make Unattended install CD:
1 RVMI update XP source to SP3  (unless it's media center then SP2 - {don't use MCE})
there are some really good addons for RVMI
   - post Servce Pack update packs; All in Ones, AIO; Critical only, whatever
   - other addons can install software like adobe reader or ...
   - some addons tweak registry values.
It's very powerful, and not to complicated - RVMI will even copy your source for you. (never work on original files)
2 if you want to automate a CD based install you can use nLite for only automated install ... nothing else. period.
3 once you are all done, make a copy.
   Add DriverPacks to the copy.
NO MORE changes are allowed to the copy at this point, your source is complete once you add DriverPacks. ( you made a copy right?)
If you do make changes after this point I will know, and will ridicule you publicly.
4 MAKE ISO you may use nLite to make the ISO, and nothing else. period. (no more changes remember)

a fully updates source is the best place to start as a possible solution.

HINT: use RVMI to add only SP3 first. use the output as your new source for future updates.
         A clean SP3 source is perfect for UBCD4Win big_smile big_smile.

boot disk:
grub4dos will let you do that easily... boot disk images, linux, dos, NT, whatever you like. I used it to put bartPE on a second partion.  If you need a working example then please check out Easy2Boot, (the developer is a member here too big_smile.)  It demonstrates the power of grub quite well. it's real cool on a thumb drive...

i moved this to the forum i was talking about... YOU ARE HERE. http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewforum.php?id=32
DriverPacks.net Forum » BartPE - UBCD4Win - WinPE »

Ben Burrows sold UBCD4Win, they are all but dead now, the forum is still readable.
My good friend Hilander999 Wrote (or fixed) most all of the plugins for BartPE, he provided the framework and insight so i could write the DriverPacks BartPE plugins and he is still on my speed dial. big_smile
I was talking to him the other day on the phone, I have had zero luck trying to talk him into doing a project based on a newer version of PE... It sucks because nobody has a decent project like UBCD4Win with a newer  version of PE.

if i were you i would get RVMI and nLite and DriverPacks and make an updated install.
Ryan's Integrator will add servicepacks and updates (and addons if you like)
nLite will automate the install. (and create an ISO when you are all done)
DriverPacks added to your install will complete your disc.

I would try installing from a fully updated source like the one i just described. At the very least i would install from a SP3 source disc.

We don't as a normal function of our project find drivers. We bundle them, that's what we do. People find a missing driver, report it as missing and give us a link to a known working driver and we add it. That's the system.

Your driver may turn up, and I hope it does. I am a big fan of Gigabyte boards myself. Can't you just run Win7 with XP mode?  Gigabyte support is awesome, perhaps contact them about an XP driver, they may do it. Especially if they have multiple of requests. I have contacted them many times, often they will send me parts like a GPU fan for free, just cause i asked. I love GB products and the company been using them for over a decade.

PS please see this Link http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=3741
skip down to POSTING GUIDLINES second paragraph BOLD 'IF"

it says "If you create a post that says "I am looking for a driver for..."" then...
And you did exactly that.... So... according to the rules. You get this  http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4422

you also cut and pasted your first post over here, we got that info the first time, three of the four lines were not relevant there , and certainly no need to repeat them here. It was "good to know"... once.

second post and breakin the rules already... you is a bad boy!  lol

PS I wrote those guidelines so be careful about griping about them tongue.
PSS if you show up with the driver that you know works that will make "you da man!" and we'll get it added. It will have to be from a valid source like OEM or manufacturer. no modded files.
