Topic: Linux Drivers for ntpasswd

I was wondering if there would be a way to collect Linux drivers or are there only Windows Drivers on http://www.DriverPacks.net

I would like to be able to reset my clients passwords on machines that are not supported by me.

For the CD that uses Linux and needs Linux drivers:

Instead of using Winternals Administrator Tools (Password Recovery) which I could use easily [costly], I would like to use the Open Source version of ntpasswd.

What would be the best / most efficient way to hunt down all of these drivers?

I would love to create a DriversPack for Linux, it seems to be my future OS that will allow me to retire early.

Isn't DP for Linux is a bit redundant? Most Linux drivers get included in the kernel itself eventually, it is only the binary drivers that can't be included.

Only for the high-level Linux / Unix systems that have everything installed.

I am working with the text-based Windows Recovery via Linux (very slim, 3+ MB).
I would like to fill the CD with drivers; mostly Mass Storage for accessing NTFS SATA/RAID from Linux.

I could get this all done easier with Knoppix DVD and a 1MB download and compile.
But most do not have a DVD in the office, and I couldn't download if there is no internet.

But still, when you compile the kernel for your CD you still pick with drivers you include in the kernel/as modules.

You can't compile modules on a different kernel and then try to use it on another kernel, it won't work.

I see.

I will have to find out exactly what needs to be done. Maybe compiling a driverpack into the recovery CD's kernel. I know you can do customize Knoppix Live CD's. Maybe I can customize this Recovery CD with driverpacks.

check out http://www.winrescueme.com they have a Boot CD running Linux that has updated drivers.  Will reset Windows Passwords and recovery most Bios Passwords.

FYI, Knoppix also has a CD version out.
