Re: Windows XP Setup Characters Incorrect

That sounds very much like failing graphics hardware.
  Check with Misha Cherkes' Video Memory Stress Test, linked in my signature &/or the Windows version, available at his home page.
http://mikelab.kiev.ua/index_en.php?pag … AMS/vmt_en

A CUDA Video Memory test for linux is available here --> http://sourceforge.net/projects/cudagpumemtest/

Fanless designs probably shouldn't be used to drive two monitors.
Overheating is a probable cause too, sadly.

Re: Windows XP Setup Characters Incorrect

Then i was wrong.  That is good that i am wrong about that.  smile

Perhaps harkaz hadn't included multilanguage support for his textmode updates included in the unofficial XP-SP4 project.
Is he still on holidays?

If and when you post a question at ryanvm forums, please remind them of this project.  I would very much appreciate that.
  Maybe they will like the DP_Virtual_wnt5_x86-32 pack we have been working on this past month.

When you do find out what exactly caused the problem, please share the solution there.

Re: Windows XP Setup Characters Incorrect

It`s all the way like this(the characters) even when it stops loading drivers and goes to the main menu that it shows the hard drive/partition.

i confirm that the driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1412115.7z it causing the problem after integrating the older driverpack DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z the problem does not occur but in the windows setup between at 37-36 minutes left i got a blue screen BSOD saying about the hard disk  stop 0x0000007b anyway this is another thing with the driver
i think the best thing to do is to include only AMD SB7xx & SB8xx textmode driver v3.3.1540.33 for all-any amd masstorage controllers old or new it works with any board i have tried so far,and not so many textmode drivers for many different amd.
like the three musketeers said one for all and all for one!!!

if you cannot do it can you tell me how i can do it myself to delete all the sata amd textmode drivers(except the amd ide ones) from the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1411031.7z pack and leave only the AMD SB7xx & SB8xx textmode driver v3.3.1540.33 with all the amd hardware id`s connected to this driver only.thanks

Am wondering what procedure you used to do that.

Have checked differences between the two packs you noted above, and for the AMD sections, there are few differences.  One difference was that a couple of drivers were "disabled" for win2k.  Another difference was in the names "sb8xx/sb9xx".
By textmode updates, note that harkaz included some updates for textmode which might have been english customizations.  Those seem much more likely to cause the issues you have noted in this topic.  You have integrated his Unofficial XP-SP4, have you not?

What HWID was this for?

My thoughts, hopes, and prayers are for the people still on the ferry off the coast of Corfu, as well as those on the as-of-yet missing Malay air liner.

Re: Windows XP Setup Characters Incorrect

Oops, i think you might have accidentally reported yourself.  tongue
  We are all human, and make mistakes from time-to-time.

Delete the HWID's listed in the DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1412115.7z section [AM-7] as follows:

,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4392,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4393

Set "ms_count=1" for that section, then delete the following:

ms_2_deviceName="AMD AHCI Compatible RAID SB7xx"
ms_2_tag="ahcix70r"
ms_2_sysFile="ahcix86.sys"
ms_2_hwids="SCSI\ProcessorAMD_____"
ms_2_isBusExtender=false
ms_2_exc_skipIfOS="w2k"

As Outbreaker previously noted, SCSI\ProcessorAMD_____ should be using a null-driver, as noted in the corresponding .Inf file.

edit:  Also modify the MassStorage.ini to reflect when it was edited.  For instance:

; version 1412291

Since you are experiencing STOP &H7B errata about T36, edit the ..\D\M\AM\7\ahcix86.inf file.
  Comment-out the following lines, like so:

;CatalogFile=ahcix86.cat

...

;%NapaDesc%=Napa_Inst,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4392
;%NapaDesc%=Napa_Inst,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391
;%NapaDesc%=Napa_Inst,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4393

Note that those aforementioned sections are almost verbatim that of the official release.
  This is not to "blame" them that worked on this pack previously,
but to celebrate them and the fact that it took well over two years to uncover problems!

Please post your resulting pack, and test it with an unmodified XP-SP3 media (no updates, no apps, etc) integration using DPs_BASE with DP_MassStorage, DP_LAN & DP_Chipset only.  Please retain your DPs_BASE log, and post it in code tags if there are still problems.  Also, keep a copy for yourself of DPs_FnShR.log from the machine being tested (only if it actually achieves the Desktop sucessfully).

Check RAID by setting up a single drive, if only one drive is available, as JBOD if possible.

If it does work correctly, keep the image for later testing.  Then move on to creating your "final" image with updates, etc.  DPs_BASE integration is to be the last step.  Note that DPs_BASE is not meant to attempt to update integration of DP_MassStorage, as we had previously discussed.

I hope it works for you, because then it should work for everyone else too.  smile

Also, through this process you may become aware of what exactly caused you characters to not be Greek.
For "Press any key to start from CD" to appear in another language, i so far fail to understand how DriverPacks(TM) could possibly cause that.

Also, I thank you for your continued contributions.  I look forward to learning more from you!

Re: Windows XP Setup Characters Incorrect

That is a strange effect.

I cannot download.  Filedropper takes me to it's homepage.
  Does it require the use of Adobe Flash instead of HTML5?
