Topic: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

Hi,

2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks here bellow

DriverPacks BASE 6.08.6
DriverPack Chipset 6.09.1
DriverPack CPU 6.09.1
DriverPack Graphics A 6.09
DriverPack Graphics B 6.08
DriverPack Graphics C 6.03
DriverPack LAN 6.08.1
DriverPack MassStorage 6.08
DriverPack Sound A 6.08.1
DriverPack Sound B 6.08
DriverPack WLAN 6.08

Here the settings

[Settings]
instPlatform	= "disc"
DriverPacks	= "all"
DPsMethod	= "2"
finisherMethod	= "GUIRunOnce"

[OptionalSettings]
KTD		= "none"
QSC		= "yes"

[OptionalSettingsOther]
ATI_cpl		= "CCC"

1) After an Unattended installation and reboot i got the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" windows. I clicked on "Install the software automatically)... after awhile i got "Cannot Install this Driver".
Infact, by checking the Device Manager i found "Other Device/Unknown Device" with ACPI\WEC0513\4&40474C7&0 as details (see image beloow).
Anyone can tell me what device could be it?

2) As i installed the DriverPacks with Method 2, KTD = "none" and QSC = "yes", How could I make a "Search" or "Reinstall" a driver installation from my UA DVD? Is there any trick?

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

1) What motherboard are you using? I think it will be some exotic additional monitoring/overclocking chip again, so I just need to add that driver and it'll be fixed.

2) If you did not use KTD, then the easiest method would be to do this:

a) insert DVD
b) start > run
c)

cmd
cd /d X:\
X:\OEM\bin\7z.exe X:\OEM\DP*.7z %systemDrive%
X:\OEM\bin\DevPath.exe %systemDrive%\D

(where X: is the drive letter of your DVD drive)
d) install the drivers
e) if you closed the previous command prompt, start a new one and type

X:\OEM\bin\DevPath.exe

(this will reset the DevicePath to the original: %systemRoot%\Inf)

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

Wow...it's ultimate Geek Porn!

The following sentence is false.
The preceding sentence is true.

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

Intel Chipset drivers are already included, Bluetooth drivers are not yet included in any of the official DriverPacks, so that would be for one of the 3pdps for now.

After some searching, it turns out that the ACPI\WEC0513\* HWID corresponds with a device called "Winbond Smartcard Reader". Smartcards also are not included in the official DriverPacks... But I strongly doubt you would need it, smartcards are only used for authentication in large companies. If you don't need it for authentication, then you certainly can live without it. Just right-click that device and disable it.

But didn't the HDA hotfix get installed automatically? That's very strange... Didn't you slipstream DriverPack Sound A or DriverPacks-b?

You are right, Chipset drivers are already included and to be honest, Bluetooth driverspack MUST be installed after the last reboot. In fact, i made a silent install  of "BlueSoleil_2.3" during WPI and got unknown device messages. To get ride from it, i had to Uninstall and Install "BlueSoleil_2.3".

That Winbond came with my brand new machine.

YES i slipstreamed DriverPack Sound A AND DriverPacks-b see the DPsFnshr.log here bellow, soory i can't attached the file.
I must say that all those driver problems cames right after the UA install.

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

From your DPsFnshr.log, I can derive that the HDA hotfix did indeed not get installed. Can you please post your DPs_BASE.log so I can see why that is? Did you slipstream an UpdatePack by the way?

Hi Bâshrat,

Hope you feel better.
May you advise me what to do regarding my DPs_BASE.log (posted here above)?
In fact there is

<SLIP> English (RyanVM's) UpdatePack detected: no HDA hotfix will be slipstreamed.

Regards
coucou

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

Well... *DID* you slipstream RyanVM's UpdatePack? Since it is detected... That's why the BASE assumes that the HDA hotfix doesn't need to be slipstreamed, since it is already included in the UpdatePack.

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

Well...
Why it's NOT unattended installed?

I've to install it manually(see images in posts above)

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

How could I know that? RyanVM's UpdatePack was detected, that should handle it. Can you confirm that you did slipstream it?

If you extract your svcpack.inf and then open it, does it look messed up?

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

You could slipstream the Driver Packs before RyanVM's update pack.

As far i remember using DriverPacks, Bâshrat advise to slipstream DriverPacks AFTER integrating RyanVM's Hoptfixes/Addons and nLite. Isn't it???

Re: [NEEDS REPLY] 2 questions regarding the latest DriverPacks

As far as I recall, it is advised to DP the setup after nLite, since it used to tend to mess up some of the .inf files.  Never had an issue using DP's prior to RyanVM's.

Just tryin to give ya more advice is all.

I'm sorry coucou, but if you did slipstream RyanVM's UpdatePack, then I don't see why it should not work. This might be an isolated issue.
