Re: [Nightlies] DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1306-1501 - Public

Revamped Qualcomm/Atheros support, including AR5xxx-AR9xxx {DriverVer = 05/23/2013,10.0.0.251}
and AR701x & AR9271 (USB)  {DriverVer = 10/12/2011,7.7.0.104} which includes support for Panasonic UB94, Sony UWA-BR100, Ubiquiti WifiStation, and the Xbox360 Wireless N adapters.

  There has also been a little "addition by subtraction" with the removal of a D-Link driver & a TP-Link driver.

Also updated is support for AR9170 USB adapters including Ovislink adapters.  {DriverVer = 12/21/2010,3.0.0.174}
The legacy AR5523 series is now supported by {DriverVer = 01/21/2007,1.5.0.119}

In addition, the RaLink added support files Rt2500x.inf, rt25NWusb.inf and rt6x.inf have had their references to their  respective Security Catalogs commented out to prevent err.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1306-1501 - Public

It would be nice to have the changelog_wlan update it.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1306-1501 - Public

It's on "the list".     smile

... and updated to support generic/OEM WLAN utilities

Re: [Nightlies] DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1306-1501 - Public

Updated Atheros & Ralink drivers.     smile
Also updated Intel drivers (where applicable) and resolved a missing file problem.
  WiMAX drivers have been updated and and should install properly now.
   Also shortened path length.  One consequence is that DP_WLANutils had to be modified.

DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1401031.7z - 43.46 MB   6a70c0e442eaf4776b6fcfcd37730357d8b1ddce
DP_WLANutils_wnt5_x86-32_1401021.7z - 115.46 MB   1d098f18d585a30dee51154b347472825a3e77fc

The changelog and TOC is still on my TODO list once i get a round "tuit".

updated Realtek WiFi

DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1401191.7z - 43.71 MB   B76C15C33A947319C9C497D4688518A699BFD67A

changelogs still on my "round-tuit" list.

Here is a screenshot of Thesycon's DP Latency Checker:

It is amazing how enabling that Mfg's WiFi registers terrible latency in Thesycon's proggy.

Re: [Nightlies] DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1306-1501 - Public

HI,
Why has the WLAN DriverPack increased from 28 MB to 44 MB? yikes
I have the feeling that the two "IntelWiMAX.msi" files (24 MB) belong in the WLANutils Pack.
And i also noticed that the "changelog_wlan.txt" file is empty. smile

Re: [Nightlies] DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_1306-1501 - Public

Updated, including contents/changelogs/previous.     smile
  Utilities are now installed by HWID, not via .inf as that method was buggy.

Do read the changelog, it has important information not quoted in this reply below.

From the changelog:

"Windows XP SP3 (incl. TabletPC & MCE - except Embedded) Extended Support by MS ended April 2014 (network connection ill-advised)"
...
"-WEP, WPA, WPS & WPA2 have been cracked
   see:  http://phys.org/news170679777.html, http://phys.org/news/2011-12-us-cert-wi … brute.html
           & http://phys.org/news/2014-03-wpa2-wireless.html

*** USE ANY OF THESE DRIVERS ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK ***

-Reconsider a wired connection if possible (proper cabling can be used instead of replaceable antennae)"

D'oh.  Think the following need be added (thoughts, anybody?):

"-Use a LAN connection instead wherever possible via Virtual environments.

Also note that both Broadcom & Intel driver sets list OpenSSL in their list of copyrights dated 2006 & 2008.
  Are any of the HeartBleed affected versions of OpenSSL included in those or any other driver sets including DP_LAN?
    I don't know.  That is on reason why i have placed so many disclaimers in the changelog.
