Topic: [SOLVED] Could not copy DriverPack Chipset to \OEM

Greetings to all and thank you for this program and for the driverpacks!  I anticipate having success with DPs_BASE sometime but I'm beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

The short of it is that no matter how few or how many DriverPacks I have enabled for DPs_BASE to slipstream, I get the message "Could not copy DriverPack (name of driverpack) to \OEM".

Here's the log and then my more detailed description:

2006-10-10 19:32:18 : Program terminated.

First, I downloaded the base and all the driverpacks mentioned in the log above (the latest available as of last night), admittedly, I used GetRight.  WinRAR v3.61 tests the .7Z archives as working 100%.

I've tried running this on:

XP Home OEM (Dell) which I already slipstreamed SP2 and RyanVM v2.12a (and it does work to install from)

and

XP Home OEM (Dell) with just SP2 slipstreamed.

I have available the original Dell OEM CD with just SP1(a?) and I also have XP MCE 2005, either with or without RyanVM slipstreamed.

I have tried this with:

The XP CD contents in "E:\XPSP1a_ENG_PER" and DPs_BASE in "E:\DPs_BASE_610" (E: being on a SATA RAID),

the XP CD contents in "E:\XPSP1a_ENG_PER" and DPs_BASE in "J:\DPs_BASE_610" (J: being a PATA),

and The XP CD contents in "J:\XPSP1a_ENG_PER" and DPs_BASE in "J:\DPs_BASE_610"

with the same result each time.  Very frustrating.  I'm sure it must be something simple.  I've tried DPs_BASE with all of the default settings, I've tried it with method 1 instead of the default of 2, ALWAYS on a disc, not a multiboot disc, with all the driverpacks I downloaded or just one at a time, with and without MassStorage text mode, GUIRunOnce AND RunOnceEx.  I haven't tried changing the KTD default of disabled, and with and without the QuickStream Cache.

Argh.

Help!!!  smile

Re: [SOLVED] Could not copy DriverPack Chipset to \OEM

Hi
have you tried a new download of the mass storage pack yet?
the download you have could be corrupt?

btw, this is the first time I notice "FOR ATHLONXP" and "for intel and other integrated" in a log.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

DOH!  LOL, I knew it was probably something simple.  I have a habit of adding more detailed descriptions to my downloads after the default filename.  The "FOR ATHLONXP" you saw in the log was part of my describing which of the driverpacks I downloaded I specifically wanted to use with my main computer and the ones without that were more generic for when I repair other people's computers (quite often).  I had noticed that in the log as well but didn't think much of it until you mentioned it.

The other hint I shouldn't have ignored was that when DPs_BASE shows the Update Check page, it said something like "Where did you find this version?" for every DriverPack I had downloaded.

It just finished updating while I typed this, after I restored just the original filenames.

It did say:

2006-10-10 20:42:22 : <CRIT> Could not delete temporary working directory.
2006-10-10 20:42:27 : <CLNP> Temporary working directory successfully deleted.

for some reason, but that doesn't sound critical.

Thanks much for your quick and helpful reply!

you weren't browsing the temp folder during slipstream, were you?

hehe, I done that couple times...
