Topic: [SLVD] Unable to create WIM with XP and MDT 2010 Update 1

Hi all!

I'm experiencing problems trying to get a universal image to deploy in my company using MDT 2010 Update 1.

First, I've downloaded all driverpacks (no matter what final size gets the image big_smile) and integrated into my XP SP3.

Second, I've imported my OS (XP SP3) with driverpacks injected in MDT, and created a task for sysprep and capture.

Third, I've gone to my bare metal workstation (which has been installed with the XP SP3 with driverpacks that I've in MDT) and run script litetouch.vbs

This stops at "Apply Windows PE" step, and after few seconds, I get error 0x80004005

Perhaps it's a driver issue... Any ideas?

PS: Excuse my poor English

Solved!

I was doing it in the wrong way (newbie mistakes...).

Your bare metal must be installed with minimum drivers (SATA and LAN RIS if needed, nothing more).

Then, you capture your reference machine, create a new deployment share in MDT using that captured wim and then inject drivers in that.

Hope this helps someone smile
