Topic: [PROB] BSOD when using MassStorage DP with HP DX5150 SFF machines

Hi all

Been getting the following BSOD when installing XP with the MassStorage DP slipstreamed. Has been like this ever since i started using the DriverPacks so an older version wont help me here - unfortunately lol

The BSOD is:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.

...follow these steps:

Now, heres the fun part...

The actual HDDs are SATA ones and the chipset is a ATI one I believe [not sure exactly what so I've included a hwids.txt at the end of the post - its got a ATI express 200 chip on it [but thats probably the gfx lol] but oddly, you can install XP without using any SCSI / SATA drivers i.e. seems to treat it like a normal IDE / ATA HDD.

I did try to use AutoImage without the Integrate MassStorage Text Mode Drivers checkbox checked, but I don't know at the moment whether that feature works yet as it seemed to intergrate them during the process of Bâshrat the Sneaky.

And if I leave out the MassStorage DP all together, it works fine [well, did previously].

Anyone got any ideas?

I have a similar problem.
Installing XP on a HP DV5000 model...
Everything works fine until windows xp final setup reboot.
Upon the XP loading screen I get a BSOD.

It detects the hard disks just fine in setup and installs just fine...just after completion it seems to go wrong.
Is this similar to your problem?

I had to enable standard ATA compatibility in the BIOS to get it working.
Serious decrease in performance thgough...

The DX5150 uses the ATI Radeon Express 200 chipset which uses the Sil3112 raid chipset, and unfortunately from what I can read here, the driverpack MassStorage still has issues with it.  I have a few of those and actually ended up here looking for a way to integrate those drivers since the DX5150's I have don't come woth floppies so installing XP with drives already in RAID is a no-no.

It has been working fine for MONTHS, for well over a year probably. It's still unclear what the exact cause is. I'm working on it, but currently I've given a higher priority to an update of the DriverPacks BASE, since more people benefit from that...
