Topic: MassStorage DriverPack is causing BSOD during system install reboot.

Hi all,

I'm creating both XP Pro and XP Home SP3 slipstream install discs using XP Home and XP Pro SP2 OEM discs.

I read the FAQ, searched the forum, and read related posts. But no clear answer.

After the process of elimination, i concluded that the current Mass Storage Pack is causing the system install to crash after it completes copying the files to the new computer and attempts to reboot to finish the install process. The BSOD shows the following:

Stop  0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0xf779d149, 0xf71b16e0)

setupdd.sys

I initially included all of the latest Driver packs except for "Runtimes for ATI". The nlite slipstream process finishes without errors and i created the XP Home and Pro install DVDs.

However, when i removed the Mass Storage Driver Pack and rebuilt the slip streamed discs, the system install process completed without errors and installed the new slipped streamed system on the new computer.

Sounds like you did Driverpacks and nlite in the wrong order.

NEVER use nlite to slipstream DriverPacks.  It doesn't work.
Use DriverPacks BASE to slipstream DriverPacks LAST, just before building the .iso.
