Testing on virtual pc 2007 sp1 and its bombing with a popup
''16 bit MS-DOS subsystem"
ntvdm-210.214.300002
c:\windows\system32\config.nt. The syste file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
<CLOSE> <IGNORE>

Clicking ignore then has same popup with the "ntvdm...." line replaced with
"c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe"

Ignore brings up another of the same, then another ignore gets another popup saying it cannot find c:\DSPdsblr.exe
- presume as the first bit failed.
---------------------------

This was all fine on previous builds and nothing else on the system has changed (as far as I can think)
Built non-KTD, method 2, RunOnce setup, XP SP3

Re: VirtualPC latest DP_Base & nightlies - ntvdm-210.214.30002 error

Just tested with DPs_BASE_805.exe and seems same issue?

Re: VirtualPC latest DP_Base & nightlies - ntvdm-210.214.30002 error

Maybe you should give VirtualBox a try.

I was very fond of VirtualPC myself (liked it much better than VMWare) but VB has been coming along quite nicely.
As an industry's first, they even added support for 64bit guests on 32bit hosts and 3D support for OGL in the latest version (2.10)!
That's really something to long for in a VM, IMO!

VirtualBox is my all-time favorite by far!

Re: VirtualPC latest DP_Base & nightlies - ntvdm-210.214.30002 error

hmm most odd appears to be fine in VirtualBox - i never had a problem in virtual PC though before? (done this a million times before)

update - it was fine until it hung with a black screen and vertical green stripes anyway.

Re: VirtualPC latest DP_Base & nightlies - ntvdm-210.214.30002 error

If i use the SATA Controller in VirtualBox and use the "DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_811r1.7z " i  get a Blue Screen if Windows XP loads.

Re: VirtualPC latest DP_Base & nightlies - ntvdm-210.214.30002 error

i had sata on actually, i just got that freeze with stipes at end of GUI install - on reboot it booted up and was fine.
i burned to DVD-RW in the end and it all worked ok ona  live pc -  not sure why Virtualpc 2007 was not working though.
