Topic: LDT High Definition Audio Codec wont start (error code 10)

Resently I've had to format my computer, and reinstall windows XP home edition. After this the Audio device for video, games etc wont start. How can I fix this problem. I'd tried to download new drivers for the device, but it dosen't work. Please help.

Thank very much in advance.

PS: The coputer is a Dell dimension 9200.

Re: LDT High Definition Audio Codec wont start (error code 10)

Unless you are using SP3 (either slipstreamed or installed), you will need to install KB888111, otherwise known as HDAudio hotfix.

Usually, it comes bundled with driver releases, as long as you install those via the setup.EXE and not the .INF method.

Besides, this does not qualify as "Site & Forum Issues And Feedback".
Please post in the appropriate section next time.

HI Helmi.

I've just descovered that I'm running servicepack 3 from microsoft, then what I'm I to do?

Re: LDT High Definition Audio Codec wont start (error code 10)

Have you been using the DriverPacks on your install disc or have you not?

You could give the new SAD a chance, that might cure your problem, if not, it's hard to tell what else it may be with that sparse an info you have provided.

If you are not using the DriverPacks best idea would be taking it to Dell's support wink
