Topic: "PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA" when DriverPacks used

Hi,

I've prepared my unattended unattended WinXP CD.
First i used nLite 1.0final to tweak my unattended WinXP and to integrate RyanVM hotfixes 2.7a and Addons.
Then, I installed it on a VMware Workstation 5.0... Installation OK.

After that successfull installation i started all DP integration (DP_BASE_6.06.1, DP_CPU_6.05, DP_Chipset6.05, DP_Graphics_A_6.06,  DP_Graphics_B_6.03,  DP_Graphics_A_6.03, DP_LAN_6.05.1, DP_MassStorage_6.03.1, DP_Sound_A_6.06.1,  DP_Sound_B_6.06 and DP_WLAN_6.05). The integration went fine. But when i try insatlling it on  my VMware Workstation 5.0... Installation failed.
In fact, while the installation (after Window Setup, format ,files copy) i got a blue screen with the message error (see image here bellow). It looks as a "PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA" problem caused by setupdd.sys file.

How can i get ride from that error???
Any help will be appreciated.

Retry with ONLY the DriverPacks, no nLite applied, no UpdatePacks. I suspect that nLite is the culprit. Or your CDR.

setupdd.sys isn't touched by the DriverPacks.

I'm not using CDR, it's a virtual CD.
I'm trusting you and i'll used an ONLY the DriverPacks installation later.
But how can you explain that when i'm using an nLite + RyanVM applied except the DriverPacks, the installation went fine?

BTW, i want to try before to integrate the nonGUI DP_Base and DriverPacks.  May you tell me what the latest nonGUI Version of DP_Base and DriverPacks (i red somewhere else that ifo and can't find it).

6.03.4 was the latest version of that I think. The latest DriverPacks Chipset and Graphics A aren't compatible with it, the others are.

Please use the latest version of the DriverPacks BASE, I will not try to fix any possible problem with an ancient version of the DriverPacks BASE wink

I followed yr advise and did it exactly

Retry with ONLY the DriverPacks, no nLite applied, no UpdatePacks.

I used an Official Win XP Pro VLM SP2 Pre Integrated and the latest version of DriverPacks BASE as well as DriverPacks (DP_BASE_6.06.1, DP_CPU_6.05, DP_Chipset6.05, DP_Graphics_A_6.06,  DP_Graphics_B_6.03,  DP_Graphics_A_6.03, DP_LAN_6.05.1, DP_MassStorage_6.03.1, DP_Sound_A_6.06.1,  DP_Sound_B_6.06 and DP_WLAN_6.05)....

Sorry to disapoointing you, i got the same  blue screen as above with the message error "PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA" problem caused by setupdd.sys file. The only chage are the error address

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE1C66000,0x00000000,0xF9E63CA1,0x00000001)
*** setupdd.sys - Address F9E63CA1 base at F9E10000, DateStamp 41107c8f

Any help will be appreciated.

hm... first of all, I'll need your hwids (check my sig for a tool). Did this same system get installed succesfully in the past?

Does your system have onboard graphics or onboard sound? And have you added an additional graphics or sound card? The 0x50 code points to a driver conflict.

Here bellow ypou'll find my hwids. BE CARE! this last installation test i did, was on a VMware Workstation 5.0 virtual machine... But i did it last week on this machine and got the same blue screen error. Moreover, i tested it on a second computer and got again the same blue scrren error.

This same system get installed succesfully MANY TIMES and on a virtual machine too in the past, with the previous DriverePacks and even with nLite +RyanVM.

BTW, i wanted to test the install with the previous DriverPacks BASE 6.03.x and DriverPacks. I couldn't find any download links.

Could you please retry the installation without the TV card? Just remove it from your system temporarily. I suspect that this one is the culprit - at least it is the most likely one: this is the 'most exotic' device in this system.

I'll try removing this card later.
i want to understand...:
First, i tested this last install on a Virtual Machine... NO TV card on it
Second, i've tested this latest DP's on 2 differents computers.. same problems
Third, the TV card on this computer is not an 'exotic' one, it's an Hauppauge card.
Last but NOT least, i've installed many many times this same system + nLite +RyanVM+ Previous (NON GUI) DriverPacks in the past and never got this error...
This why I want to try inastalling the previous DriverPacks. Is there any links somewhere???

It's not exotic, but it's the most exotic device that is present on that system. That you are getting that error on a VM simply astonishes me. The only thing that's left for me to suggest (especially you're the only one with this problem so far), is to start with only ONE DriverPack (Chipset for example) and gradually add more DriverPacks, to find the DriverPack which causes the problem.

P.S.: have you overclocked this system? Because this error is caused rather frequently by corrupted ISO's...

Had the same problem until I ditched my Nlite-tweaks. Start all over and use the integrator to integrate the updatepack. Then you can use the newest driverpacks.

I checked and you CAN use the current DriverPack Graphics A with the old DriverPacks BASE wink. You just won't be able to use the old Control Panel wink I'm writing you the e-mail with the download link for DriverPack Chipset 6.03.1 right now...

Sorry Bâshrat for bothering you.

1) Right now i downloaded what should be DP_Chipset_6.0.31... This file name called "DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32_605". Is it Normal?

2)I found a true BTS_DriverPacks_BASE_V6034 here

In fact, the one you sent me looks a same as the latest version when it's expanded. It have 3rd party DriverPacks; bin; docs and DriverPacks folders and use DPs_BASE.exe to slpistream.

The one with the link above have DriverPacks and Files folders and use the BTS_DPS_Slipstreamer_V6034.cmd file. Can I use this one istead of yours?

Is this official XP directly from CD or from a folder on your Harddisk ?
