Topic: DriverPack MassStorage causes crash on boot

Hi, Im sort of a noob, but heres my question.  I put all 11 driver packs into my windows xp cd, following all guides instructions.  everything went fine, even the installation. However, on what would be first boot, where it would run the intro to xp, it crashes, a fast flash of blue screen of death, then my monitor has the error about "cannot read MHZ  Please try changing your Rezolution"   So I made the disk again, without the video card packs. Problem still occured. So i did it again and again, finally removing only the Mass Storage Driver pack.  Problem solved. However, Without it i cannot install onto my new SATA drive, the whole point of the whole thing.

Has anyone else had a problem like this?  heres my pc info if its needed,

Amd athalon 64, 3200+  1 gyg ram,

Nvidia FX 5600 AGP 8 256mb video card

K8T Neo-FIS2R   mother board by MSI

Samsung HD501LJ sata 500 gyg hard drive

maxtor 6y200p 200 gyg ide hard drive

wdc 1600 jb  Western digital 160 gyg hard drive

I think thats all the pertenent information.

I couldnt find any information on simular problems.  Please help me i really want ot use my new hard drive!.
Thanks

Re: DriverPack MassStorage causes crash on boot

hi,
welcome to DriverPacks.
Please try one of the two testpacks here.

Hmm, yes, they were moved into the "olde" folder.

The latest change was done by JakeLD and is this one

71012X_No_SiLCC_NVIDIAFIX

If you have an AMD CPU and Nvidia chipset, and 71012X_No_SiLCC_NVIDIAFIX does not work, then do try the 7109X
(I will put it in the testing folder again, so that the link again works  )
7109X_SiL_No_CC.7z

CC_010x tags were apparently not needed for Silicon Image, so that file where we tagged SiLicon Image stays in the "old folder".

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: DriverPack MassStorage causes crash on boot

if i integrate those one of those 2 drive packs into the cd, will it replace the one thats causing me issues? It takes the "bad" one out right?  because it updates them or what not?  thanks for fast reply

Re: DriverPack MassStorage causes crash on boot

oh and its a via chipset.. nvidia video card.

Re: DriverPack MassStorage causes crash on boot

Hi
when you do the slipstream, a more recent pack will be taking the place of the older.
in other words, it is updated.

PLEASE ENABLE QSC when you slipstream, even if it does NOT reccomend it.

Kind regards, Jaak.
