Topic: Wish to install also drivers defined in winnt.sif/oempnpdriverspath

Hello all
I guess that i did not understand the funtionality of the driverpacks-System with the unattended section in winnt.sif

The Problem i have:

I Have created a full unattended XP-DVD with Driverpacks, all Hotfixes and some software-installation (WMP11, AdobeReader, Nero, Wizip, Hive Clean Up ...)
everything works perfect, but i can't install drivers in a second way via winnt.sif/unattended/oempnpdriverspath

in winnt.sif Section unattended i have this entry

oempnpdriverspath = "Drivers\01chips;Drivers\02lan;Drivers\03vga"

on the DVD i have this folders:

$OEM$\$1\Drivers\01chips
                          \02lan
                          \03vga

After setup is finished i have this folders on Partition C: with the drivers in it:
C:\Drivers\01chips
                \02lan
                \03vga

but the drivers in this folders are not installed !
does driverspack change the "oemfilespath" ?
do i have to add a second "oemfilespath" somewhere ?

as i understand $OEM$\$1 is the same as %SYSTEMDRIVE% and this variable is added from setup always to the Path in oempnpdriverspath

can someone explaine me what's wrong ?

Re: Wish to install also drivers defined in winnt.sif/oempnpdriverspath

Right.  The whole point of driverpacks is to be a replacement for the standard driver installation for XP setup.

That said, you need to make your own custom "3rd party" driver pack for the drivers you want to install yourself.

Check out how to make a 3rd party pack yourself here.

Thank you TigerC10, as i guessed.  I never found somewhere a detailed description of what's going on with driverpacks

Re: Wish to install also drivers defined in winnt.sif/oempnpdriverspath

Hi
I thought base with method 1 does this for you.
Main packs like Chipsets, LAN and graphics should have what you need.
I will suggest you read the tutorial I link to in my signature.

I do not know much about WPI, but think it also works with method 2.
If you are not adding ALL the packs, method 1 will do too.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Thanks to all

i didn't know the posibility to add multiple 3rd packs with base.
Since i know that, i prefer 3rd packs
