Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

Uh, I'm not sure that DriverPacks is compatable with Vista (has anyone else been able to?).  I mean, I know for sure you can't integrate into a vista disk - but that's not what I mean here.  I mean, I don't know if you can use vista and slipstream into an XP disk...

Have you tried running DriverPacks in Windows XP?

Also, since you're using a different language version - have you tried using the english version?

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

That is one HECK of a transformation pack if it's not vista.  Oh...  Haha, I just noticed that Ubuntu logo at the start menu location for the first screen shot. roll

Edit:
Oh wait, you just switched images on me...  Nevermind.

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

pleaaaaaaaase help!

I repeat even the Donate button doesn not work, but integration fails with obove error message.
This must be a fatal bug!!

PS: It is just a transformation pack created by myself: 23 Themes (magic number wink)

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

I'm not sure a broken 'donate' button would be considered 'fatal' (this works fine in my English XP). smile
The error is because the DPbase is trying to open Internet Explorer with the link: http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/donate.php
Do you have an alternate browser (Opera?) set as default?

Does ANY function of the DPbase work?
If not, delete all files (ini, exe, & folders except for your driverpacks.7z files), redownload the DPbase program and try again.
What's weird is the "any_any_any" in the title bar of DPbase instead of 'wnt5_x86-32_disc'.

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

The cause is simple.

The DriverPacks BASE uses several command line utilities to do its job. In Vista, you need admin powers to do that. So all you have to do, is running the DriverPacks BASE as the admin user. If you're not, you can do that by right-clicking the DriverPacks BASE and select the option "Run as admin" (or something like that). Then enter your admin password and voila, it all just works.

Bâshrat, he's not running Vista.  He's just using a uxtheme patch.

EDIT:
Does the DriverPacks base use .Net?  If so, then it could be an issue with not having the appropriate .Net installed.

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

AGAIN IT IS WINDOWS XP PRO SP2 Original (NOT SHITTY VISTA) with just some themes and the uxtheme patch.

So, I have made IE6 my default browser but I still get the same error!
I have administrative privileges !

Run as Adminstratator makes no difference.

sad sad

I hate files.to....  Their image capcha isn't compatable with Opera.

Next time use code blocks...  Here are capacity's files:

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

hi,
how much free room is there on D: drive?

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

Wouldn't there be a more descriptive error message if there was a lack of space?

~TigerC10~

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

well, log ends just before other logs we see mention the creation of temp folder?

I cannot reproduce it on my system, and wondered about free space.
(I might run it in a USB stick with insufficient room to try reproduce it)

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: SERIOUS PROBLEM!! DriverPacks integration doesn't work!

I have 200GB Free Space! so...

It creates the temp folder and the log and ini file, but then crashes with this error message.
Arrrrggh!! Sorry but this drives me crazy.. The older batch files worked sometimes, but EVEN with them I got often EXACTLY this errror message sad
It makes no difference if DriverPacks is in: D:\DPs_BASE_7052\ (20GB free) or C:\DPs_BASE_7052\ (200GB free), same with the XP disc on C:\XP_ORI_SP2\ or D:\XP_ORI_SP2\

Like told I tried everything, I know.

@capacity

Expanding %ComSpec% fails.
Does %ComSpec% link to cmd.exe still?
Do you use some kind of 4NT?
