Topic: Noob Question.... Sorry :/

Ok I have heard about these packs all over the place.  But what exactly are they?  How do they work?  Do you run them and they detect what hardware you have and pick the most current/relevant drivers to install?  And if so can these be slipstreamed or used as a run once in an unattended install?

Sorry for the noob question but I did not see a clear page describing what and how this is used.  Any advice would be appreciated.  If it is used the way I think it can be, it would be a very nice program to have around to keep systems up to date.

Re: Noob Question.... Sorry :/

Hi,
welcome to DriverPacks.

Q1; they are archives.
Q2; DPsBase slipstreams the txtmode (mass storage) drivers, and prepares the other archives for windows setup.
Q3, windows detects what it needs during setup.
Q4, the extracted DriverPacks are a huge collection of drivers, that is true.. However, there are some drivers which have a control panel or install routine what would not properly work when one tries to use the collection to update drivers.
The archives are prepared to be used for SETUP, see.. sad

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.
