Topic: Intel Santa Rosa (Centrino) support?

I am a UBCD4Win user and love the new Bâshrat the Sneaky integration, but I cannot figure out how to add individual support for the new Intel Santa Rosa Chipset. We just picked up a fleet of Dell Latitude D830s and I cannot find a build that will see the Hard Drive. Any suggestions?

I have copies of the drivers, and on the old system (prior to Bâshrat the Sneaky integration), I know how to add and update them. I've read a bit here, but this is all so new to me, I'm a little lost. Anyone want to give me some guidance?

Thanks,

Benjamin

Re: Intel Santa Rosa (Centrino) support?

I found the drivers for it.

http://rapidshare.com/files/41221197/In … 30.7z.html

I have taken the liberty of downloading the drivers from Dell's website, extracting the drivers, and deleted unneeded files.  I have compressed the drivers into a 7z file and put the 7z file on RapidShare.  There are two INF files in there.  One INF is for the AHCI driver sand the other INF is for the rest of the other types of drivers.

@22b22

Does a Latitude D830s use a ICH8M PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829&CC_0106 ?

UBCD4Win contain old MassStorage drivers.

Did you include current MassStorage drivers?

Re: Intel Santa Rosa (Centrino) support?

hi

today I was going through the intel iastor files again, and I redid the works.
I will do some final checks, and have a test version up tonight.
I will have a test version anyway, because I also worked on Silicon image and SiS and Promise.

Re Iastor, the work I did was triggered by another report.
When I looked, it seemed to me that older drivers were doing support for devices which could be supported in newer drivers.
I will compare the test version against the current release and some older releases.

The Bart plugin tool in DPsBase creates a plugin for UBCD4WIN, but because it has been a whil I last tested that plugin builder in DPsBase, I am not sure wether it automatically deletes the mass storage drivers UBCD4WIN has as "standard" drivers.
Anyway, the work I did today could help.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

jtdoom,

When you post the next MassStorage Driver Pack, could you e-mail me the INI file along with the changes made, so I could update the HWIDs spreadsheet I'm making?  Thanks.

Re: Intel Santa Rosa (Centrino) support?

thanks all. Busy day at work today, but I should be able to play with/test it on Monday.

UBCD4Win uses BartPE as a basis and no longer includes static Mass Storage drivers of any sort in the latest version. It includes the BartPE plugin to pull the latest Mass Storage driver pack and populate the drivers when you build the ISO, so whatever is the latest public build will be pulled in when you enable it. If you rebuild the ISO and enable the plugin, it will delete and repopulate with the latest pack.

@cdob: On the D830 on my desk, I did find the iaahci.inf file did reference ICH8M PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2829&CC_0106 for the ICH8M entry, so assuming I'm looking at the correct file, the answer would be yes.

Re: Intel Santa Rosa (Centrino) support?

I had a difficult month, but just got back to this and didn't want it to go without thanks. The new pack works great and in the past 2 days I have tested it liberally across a myriad of Intel systems (including the Santa Rosa based laptops) and it has worked phenomenally.

Thanks again!
