-------------------------

yesterday I read something about QSC and 888111.
When QSC was used, it was slipped?
We did not get a log on that report, but I can do a run on a MSDN source for server 2003 sp2, and see what it does.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

That was right here --> http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1717

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

I posted those lines out of this report because I saw an inconsistency.
it says, default (yes) and then default (no).

Have not tried WITH QSC ON yet. Have work to do on my house.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

Any news on this one guys?

Its not a major problem but when running the api with another program i.e. AutoImage, its not very automated when it pops this up wink

Surely, the version check - if done by DP - needs to just to be altered to allow for service pack 2 presumably!? as i guess its just set as checking for something specfic as opposed to checking for a minimum version etc.

Nath.

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

Nath, the KB888111 driver is for HD Audio, and it does not work with Windows 2003 when you have a service pack installed.  From what I see in the log you posted, it does not appear to have altered your svcpack information - nor did it look like it transferred the appropriate .CAT file.  If you do have a problem with installation then double check the svcpack.inf file in the svcpack folder (it should be inside the I386 directory).  If you see 888111 in either your inf file or the directory, you should delete it.  You really would only experience a problem if it's inside the svcpack.inf file, because that's where it looks to see what updates to install.

It isn't necessary for you to have KB888111 slipstreamed, which is why it's a warning rather than an error.

KB888111 Info:

Prerequisites
This driver is designed to work with the following operating systems:
* The original release version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Note This driver does not work with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or a later service pack.)
* Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or with Service Pack 2 (SP2)
* Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (SP4)

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

Hi there Tiger smile

That wasn't actually my log lol wink I was just adding my two pence to the thread smile

I've no doubt that it isn't needed, but what I was meaning is that if its not needed, there should be something within DP that prevents it trying to add it smile

When calling DP from a different program and its meant to be silent, having the pop-up although informative, it defeats the object of the api running automated.

Cheers

I just noticed that it was a different user all together!  Boy do I feel sheepish.  I guess I saw:

And assumed you were the initial poster.  My bad.

Well, regardless, you can always suppress warning errors with the type of unattended installation you do.

In any case, I don't see anything in the log that was posted that indicates that the KB888111 was actually slipstreamed to the disk.  It seems like when the poster saw the warning he jumped the gun - posted help topic but didn't test to see if there was an actual problem.

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

hehe I dont mean during the actual install of windows...

I'm refering to running Bâshrat the Sneaky DP Base and the process that slipstreams the drivers into the build of windows wink

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

Oh I see.  Does DriverPacks base pop up an error message?

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

lol yes... that what i've been saying tongue

like the log from the first poster:

2007-07-02 09:58:05 : <WARN> Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreamed!

its a popup... which u click "ok" and it carries on. Isn't a problem to the build, but means when called by another program for automation, its not automated of course if you have to click a "ok" button lol

Re: Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 isn't slipstreame

Well, it is kind of important to some of the drivers that can get installed by DriverPacks...
