Topic: Re-using Driverpacks Finisher after ghosting ?

Hi everyone,

First i want to thank you for this nice Driverpack and tools smile

here is my situation:
I am using many different kind of computer at work, with many different motherboard and hardware.
I usually make an image from one of those computer with a mergeIDE so i can be able to re-use this image to load onto an other computer. But after loading the image to an other computer , most of the time i need to re-install drivers for  ie; chipset, video card, NIC, etc.

So i build an Image of my windows XP with the Driverpacks include into it leaving the drivers in the
%systemroot%\Driverpacks , and i would like to know if its possible to re-use the finisher to redetect and installing hardware drivers after ghosting it ?

Making different image for every computer is getting too much management now so its not really an option smile

thanks for taking time reading this post

regards
Frank

You should use sysprep... it handles the device detection and all of that. Just google for it, it's a standard Microsoft tool.

Yes, sysprep is the answer here. I'll write a bit more here:

I do use sysprep & DP in my images.
