Topic: [SOLVED] A few issues with latest driverpacks

Hi Bashrat,

here´s a few things that I noticed during todays installations using the latest packs available today:

Using method 2 by the way :-)

1. /USERPMTIMER switch was not applied to boot.ini on my AMD X2 PC. Is this supposed to work already or not ?

2. The ATI CCC was not installed altough I chose it during slipstream process.

3. Problem three in this thread:

(HD Audio is left as a PCI device with ! mark in device manager) still happed with driverpack base 6.06. By the way ... the German version of the KB888111 installer was not accepted to fix the above problem, only the english version ...

4. Suddenly on my German Windows XP the "Hardware Upgrade Wizard" is in English !! This never happened before and it is a fresh new installation. No big deal but not really nice either ;-)

Other than that, great work as usual, keep it up please ! ;-)

your problem #2 (about the ATI CCC \ CCP) are currently being discuss in the Graphics Section. i think Bashrat is currently working on resolving the error.

Still, a "cosmetic" problem that should be fixed -albeit with a rather low priority.

Probably in english due english version of newdev.dll hotfix included in latest DP Base.

From the changelog of DriverPacks BASE 6.06:

-[slipstreamer] KB883667 support (Windows XP SP1 and SP2, non-MCE)

newdev.dll is a file that's necessary in this hotfix. This hotfix prevents the monitor driver pop-up during the installation, which happened in some cases.

1.  Please post the HWID of your CPU (which is not exported by save_hwids.exe!), please use the DeviceManager to get it. It SHOULD be working, it's already included.

2. Well... is going to be solved.

3. Sereby's UpdatePack detection seems to be broken, though I do not understand why. I've already replied to that topic.
As for the incorrectly or incompletely installed KB888111: I don't have a clue. I hope it will be solved by solving the detection...

4. ERM......... LOL How in the world is this possible. You know as well as I do that I don't modify any of the Windows files that do not relate to installing files, so how this could ever be possible... don't know!

As for the HD audio patch not installing correctly, this still does not work with 6.06.1.
Don´t know if it should already.

As for the english Hardware wizard ... JR posted a possible reason above. Don´t know if it is true though ...

That is definitely the problem. Change the system32\newdev.dll to the one from sereby (or to the one from the german SP2) and anything is OK.  This dll is language dependent. I have changed the newdev.dl_ after streaming DP to fix this.

Ok, the next bug: We streamed Sereby and put RVMUPPCK.IN_ to fool your installer (see post from rockbow). The installer log says that RyanVM was detected and no hotfix was streamed.
But that is wrong. Your installer changed the newdev.dl_ (language mixup). I think the detection of RyanVM / Sereby is quite buggy.

May I ask, why you do not publish the source of your slipstreamer ? May be we (me and rockbow) could find some bugs and send you hotfixes.

It should be there... unless you've deleted it. Or perhaps you've set up your cleanup script to delete all %systemdrive%\*.log files?

Then just get your hwids through the tool in my sig.

Ah yes, now I remember... while I was cleaning up DPsFnshr.ini, I found an error related to this one. It should be working in the latest nightly. You could test that,  maxximum wink

Test it by doing this:
-extract DriverPack CPU (ONLY this one) to C:\
-extract DPsFnshr.7z to C:\
-copy DPsFnshr.ini to C:\
-START the Finisher, and post your DPsFnshr.log here.

I did what you asked. There was an error "Array error" while running DPsFnshr.exe
Switch "/usepmtimer" was not added in boot.ini

when I run it on real testrig, 6.08.6 has been the best so far.
I see you ran 6.08.3

Yes, I know ... I have to re-test with 6.08.6 .... buts as Bâshrat the Sneaky wanted the "original" log file ... wink

That error should not have occurred... :s Please retry with 6.08.6 to confirm the problem still exists.
