Topic: Problem installing Sigmatel HD audio drivers on Dell D520

Hey Everyone,

I have a few new Dell D520's for my company and im having problems with getting the audio to work,  everthing installs fine while windows is installed but when I check out DM in windows it has 2 yellow ! marks. 1 is on the Microsoft HD Audio CODEC and the on the HD modem.

Installing the drivers from Dell fix the problem tho.  But I kinda wanna automate the install without having to install the drivers from Dell

did you use the third party MODEM pack?
did you use sound B pack?

you could answer this easy, but would you also please post your Base log (log created when you slipstreamed this source)

I have the same problem with a Latitude D620. Neither the SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio nor the O2Micro OZ77C6 USB CCID SmartCard Controller were recognized.

Modem Pack: No
Sound B: Both sounds were used

Add:

Dell Inspiron B130
Dell Inspiron 600m
And I ran into it on a Dell E520 as well.

All last week while working at client sites  - I did not get the HWIDs, it only occurred to me when I searched the forums this morning.

Removing the devices from the DM and installing the Dell driver downloaded from their support site fixed it in all cases.

I have a Dell Latitude D630c even it has the same problem. I used the third party Modem Pack also. Can you suggest me what should I do? Hope this forum will be useful to me.
