Topic: F6 additional drivers

I'm probably missing a simple step, however

trying a test CD,

1.  Use Ryans updater to install the hot fixes
2.  Use the driverpack, only the LAN and MassStorage
3.  Use NLite ONLY to burn a bootCD

install cd on Precision 450 with LSI Logic SCSI card
and no bueno, F6

I can slip stream these using Nlite, but clearly i'm missing something, or is that a perfered way?

Re: F6 additional drivers

If I remember well, setting OemPreinstall = yes in your winnt.sif (which is desired and even necesssary depending on your settings), F6 will no longer be available.

EDIT: but what additional drivers do you need?

Re: F6 additional drivers

I have not modified the winnt.sif.  This is what it said by default
I have the LSI logic drivers from a Dell precision 450, and believe they are already included in the LAN driver package.
"LSI Logic Ultra320 1020/1030 Driver""

I ran through the default options in driver packs, with method2, KID on, and streaming.  I guess i'm confused as to why this is not automaticly added.

Re: F6 additional drivers

Those links are not helping.
Phase 1. I download driver pack,
Phase 2. Press Slipstream driver pack
Phase 3. Profit!

But windows is not seeing the LSI logic driver.  As in if I don't F6, install floppy.
IF I manualy slipstream the driver in, or use Nlite to slipstream the driver, xp sees the drive.

Re: F6 additional drivers

After doing some side by side comparison, and checking the physical machine.
Our Dell 450 Precisions use a PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0030, which is not listed in the DriverPack TXTSetup.SIF

Downloaded Dirver From Dell
TXTSetupOEM.
symmpi = "DELL PERC5 RAID Controller Driver (Windows XP)"
symmpi = symmpi.sys,4
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0621 = "symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0622 = "symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0624 = "symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0626 = "symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0628 = "symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0030 = "symmpi"

DriversPack
symmpi   = "LSI Logic PCI Fibre Channel Host Adapter"
symmpi =symmpi.sys,4
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0626="symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0628="symmpi"
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0032="symmpi"

BAM!!!!  Missing a few
