Topic: [BUG] [DriverPack LAN 12.02] BSOD on HP ML350 G6 - network drivers?

Hi all,

I'm having an issue while launching my BartPE in an HP ML350 G6 server. I'm using Driverpacks for LAN and Mass storage (latest versions).
When I see the Sherpya message "Starting TCP/IP", I receive a BSOD with the message:

Hardware Malfunction
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

When I was thinking that the problem was in the tcpip service, I disabled the following services from the automatical startup (through the Sherpya plugin):

; Networking using bartpe + dhcp
;0x1,"Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\900","101","||xpeinit.exe -m ""Installing Tcp/IP"" bartpe.exe -c p -i ms_tcpip"
;0x1,"Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\900","102","||xpeinit.exe -m ""Installing MsClient"" bartpe.exe -c c -i ms_msclient"
;0x1,"Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\900","103","||xpeinit.exe -s -m ""Starting Tcp/IP Service"" net start tcpip"
;0x1,"Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\900","104","||xpeinit.exe -m ""Starting Dhcp Service"" net start dhcp"

; You may need to enable/disable these services depending on your configuration
;0x1,"Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\900","106","||xpeinit.exe -m ""Starting NLA Service"" net start nla"
;0x1,"Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\900","107","||xpeinit.exe -m ""Starting LmHosts Service"" net start lmhosts"

The result was another BSOD, so the problem is not related to the rows commented above.

At that point, as a last resort, I tried to exclude Driverpacks LAN 12.02 from my BartPE... and then my CD booted correctly, even if network cards were not usable.

So the problem should be in the LAN drivers... but how can I fix it?

Thanks and best regards,

Livio

Re: [BUG] [DriverPack LAN 12.02] BSOD on HP ML350 G6 - network drivers?

Moved to the BartPE area...

Can you post more info?  OS used?  HWID list from target (problem) hardware?
DPs_BASE.log?  Any other relevant logs?

I've never used Sherpya, but maybe someone else has and can help you.

Read BEFORE you post.  HWID tool   DriverPacks Tutorial   DONATE!

Re: [BUG] [DriverPack LAN 12.02] BSOD on HP ML350 G6 - network drivers?

This might be a conflict between the B\ and H\ folders again.

Is there anything I can do to fix it, even with a workaround?

Re: [BUG] [DriverPack LAN 12.02] BSOD on HP ML350 G6 - network drivers?

Well the obvious answer is to delete the B\ folder and try your integration.  If that doesn't work, then put the B\ folder back and delete the H\ folder instead and try again.
Let me know which folder works and I'll try for a permanent fix.
