Topic: [NEEDSREPLY] Belkin 11g PCMCIA card detected as a Dell

It's the F5D7011df Belkin Hi-Speed Wireless G Notebookcard. A very very good and superstable 11g card (with Afterburner support and WPA2). Can recommend it to anyone smile
Ontopic, it gets installed as some DELL card. That's not so strange, because they probably use the same Broadcom chip. It even says it is correctly installed! But it doesn't find ANY network. And also, when I try to update the driver with the Belkin driver, it says "didn't find newer driver" and doesn't install it. Even when I deinstall the card, then refresh the Hardwarelist, Windows finds the card and installs the Dell driver again... had to remove the ....SYS file before I could install my own driver manually.

The Dell .sys file that is used has the same name as my Belkin .sys file.
Here is HWID + the Belkin driver. I HOPE adding HWID is enough... adding more files means again bigger driverpacks.. well not that a few KB would matter but still .

Driver from Belkin. (dates from March 2006)

Re: [NEEDSREPLY] Belkin 11g PCMCIA card detected as a Dell

The driver you linked to is the exact same driver as the one that's already included in D\W\B\6! Also your full HWID is supported by this driver:

    %BCM430G_DeviceDesc% = BCM43XG, PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4318&SUBSYS_70111799 ;4318E CardBus

May I ask you which Dell  driver it is using? Since the one in D\W\BR\D does not support your device. Perhaps there's another Broadcom Dell driver, but then I wonder where it's located.

Note that in the new version there's also a universal Broadcom  driver included, which will probably be chosen instead of the Dell driver. That might solve your problem. Please report back after you've used DriverPack WLAN 6.08! (Which will be released within an hour or so from now.)
