Topic: Too many textmode drivers for W2K

Too many drivers are being loaded for Windows 2000 installation resulting in a corrupted file message during textmode installation, the last version without this problem was 8.05

Re: Too many textmode drivers for W2K

The problem is that some folks will replace system files with ones from a newer OS thereby solving the restrictive memory issue.
We don't encourage that because it (technically) violates licensing rules.
I'll remove more sections from dpms for w2k.

Re: Too many textmode drivers for W2K

Do you mean replacing setup.exe?

Also I found in the DriverPack tutorial is written: "...it is only a matter of time until this limit becomes a factor for XP and eventually 2003". Have you actually experienced this issue with Windows XP or 2003 and are you guys limiting the amount of MassStorage drivers already for these OS's?

Re: Too many textmode drivers for W2K

I dug up an old win2k sp2 disc so I can do some testing with this issue now.
We'll get this fixed.

I have this fixed now in latest nightly.  Verified with old Win2k SP2 disc.
