Topic: Compaq driver loaded for Tekram DC-390F SCSI, cannot start
Hello,
I have an old Tekram DC-390F SCSI card in my computer. I have created an XP Pro SP# OEM disk slipstreamed with HFSLIP, then driverpacks integrated using method 2. I'm using the standard release packs only (no 3'rd party), Mass storage is DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_901.7z.
When I install with a generic disk without driverpacks, I need to F6 load drivers Nvidia RAID drivers, but the generic built-in driver "LSI Logic 53C875/53C876 Device" is loaded for the Tekram card and it works fine. When I install with the driverpacks integrated disk, the "Compaq 32-Bit Ultra SCSI Controller /P" is loaded and doesn't work (says cannot start in Device Manager).

[2010/01/08 14:13:41 704.2018 Driver Install]So, the Compaq driver is selected over the generic.
What is the best approach to fix this? Tekram no longer has the driver for this on their web site, and the driver I have says it for Windows 2000 (released before XP). It uses the HWId PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_000F (same as the Compaq and generic drivers). So I'm thinking my best bet is to stick with the Windows XP generic driver rather than use the Windows 2000 driver from Tekram.
I was thinking I need to add a Tekram entry to the driver pack that uses the full HWid "PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_000F&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_26\4&2BE4B97F&0&3030". Any help with that would be appreciated.
