Re: Could not copy Intel

hi
please ENABLE QSC

This has been reported to the code team.

Re: Could not copy Intel

I didn't activade QSC as the danish translation makes it a bit unclear about what id does and how has to do what when it is enbled.
it sayes that it is a featuer that will allow me to skip compression for each time i intergrate, then it goes on to say that FROM NOW ON i have to delete unused QSC the folder (yes it sayes it like that), every now an then.

When do I need to delete it, where is it, do i need to delete it on the client computere or is this just somthing i need to do every time i update the drivere pack and want to intergrate it in to a new cd as i would expect.

Re: Could not copy Intel

No, this deletion message is probabaly really bad worded and placed.

Firstly, you do not have to delete anything, however, you will have to do this manually if you want to clean up old, unneeded files.

This also only applies to the DriverPacks dir on the system you slipstreamed them into the source not the one you install with the disc containing the DriverPacks!.

It's just when your DPMS gets updated, the old QSC dir with the files from the previous version will stay - right along with the new dir (it does not cause any incompatibility issues or confuses the BASE or sth. like that when you do not delete it so it's way less critical than this "warning" makes it sound.
If you do not mind the additional ~5 MB of space wasted then just forget about ever deleting it smile

Re: Could not copy Intel

from the revised tute I have (based on a version, wher QSC was still recommended for both methods.)

11) Next up is Quick Stream Cache options. Read the description.
Basically, the Quick Stream Cache speeds up the integration process for the NEXT time you use DP Base.
However, if you edit and repack your modified Mass Storage driverpack, you MUST first delete the QSC directory. Under normal circumstances, the version numbering system will prevent an outdated cache from being used, but it is still wise to delete it when updates or test versions were downloaded, or when you edit DriverPacks.

the Base utility got updated, QSC recommendations changed, but a bug krept in.
When users do NOT use QSC for method 1, we have a problem, and the bug needs to be fixed.

Re: Could not copy Intel

ok cool, i guess maybe the text should be changed or probably just be removed then.
