Topic: [IMPL] 3com driver for windows 2000

Hello,

I looked in the 3com folder (wnt5_x86-32_m1_DP_LAN_704\D\L\3) of the lan driver pack and I saw
in folder 3 and 5 only driver for windows xp. In the .inf file the driver for windows 2000 is listed.

Example EL2000x.inf:

File EL2K_XP.sys and EL2K_CPP.dll are in the folder but not EL2K_2K.sys.

Is this a mistake or is there a reason why the files are not in the pack.

Regards

Stephan

Re: [IMPL] 3com driver for windows 2000

You're right, there are missing SYS files.
From INF in D\L\3\3

; All Operating systems Only
[SourceDisksFiles]
EL2K_9X.sys				= 50
EL2K_2K.sys				= 50
EL2K_XP.sys				= 50
EL2K_CPP.dll				= 50

Only EL2K_XP.sys, cat and dll are in folder.

From INF in D\L\3\5

; All Operating systems Only
[SourceDisksFiles]
EL2K_9X.sys				= 50
EL2K_2K.sys				= 50
EL2K_XP.sys				= 50
EL2K_CPP.dll				= 50

Only EL2K_XP.sys and dll are in folder.

I don't have an answer for you, maybe one of the main team can chime in.

Re: [IMPL] 3com driver for windows 2000

Better post such issues in the apropriate sub-forum (that is the one for the DP in question).
They'll definately get spotted better in that place.

Oh, and also try making the thread title a bit more descriptive.
It's nice that you tell what device and what OS, but try adding some tag such as [MISSING FILES?] or [BUG?] (which question marks if you aren't sure) makes it much easier to handle wink

For now, I'll move ya over to DriverPack LAN! smile

Re: [IMPL] 3com driver for windows 2000

I am trying to find the original driver, but so far, no luck.

The answer was 42?

Re: [IMPL] 3com driver for windows 2000

If I do an INF edit, I can fix the missing files easy.
(already done it to \3 and \5 , matter of fact)

But, I will try for the best solution.
I found new version for 3c2000 (the files have different names)
I found old version for 3c2000 wich explicitly told me this is a rebadged marvel-yukon.
AND, the request for latest marvel-yukon might also cover this one (I have to look at HWIDS in all these files)

update/edit
found an ISO for all 3c2000 products, and hope to find the missing files in it.
