Re: [CLOSED]XP Sound driver needed on Toshiba P105 laptop..
That one changes to "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" if I run the UAA, but the HWID is the same.

That one changes to "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" if I run the UAA, but the HWID is the same.
Install UAA, then Vista drivers, and then update with the ones that worked for me. This could sound stupid, but that's pretty much what I had done to get it working.
You could also try uninstalling the device from the device manager from time to time. I have no idea.
h*ll YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got it to work!
Here are the all the links to download and install the drivers for your
laptop: (Reboot after audio and modem driver install)

2.Graphics driver:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33736.exe
Before installing Modem driver first download and install the UAA driver

4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to
install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the
list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp32823 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a)

THE ABOVE SEVEN INSTRUCTIONS ARE CRITICAL FOR INSTALLING THE AUDIO AND MODEM DRIVERS. Follow them step by step.
Then you will still not have sound until you force the driver from (farmdog_2007 post:2007-03-02 21:36:36)
Forced the update of the XP Conexant sound driver for the P100-ST9742 from Toshiba's web site. http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content … 06203a.exe
THANK YOU ALL FOR OUR HELP!

Ok, after seeing andante's HWID I got some more drivers and my unindentified devices were the TI Controllers, so now my HWID is the same as his. But, is your DM actually showing a Modem and HD Audio Device anywhere, because mine isn't. My sound, video and game controllers show "Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Media control devices, and Video Codecs". In Vista there is a modem section where the blah blah Modem is, and the HD Audio Device is under sound, video and game controllers. Do you think it's just not recognizing them in XP?
Yeah mine doesn't have the modem or audio device, did you do anything to get it to recognize those or was it always like that?
At the very beginning they were both shown as PCI Devices. Then I think I installed Microsoft UAA or Vista drivers and they turned into High Definition Buses. However without any Conexant in their names. They also had that little yellow "!", indicating that windows can't start the hardware. No matter what drivers I tried, it was all the same.
Then I found this forum and as I'd said in my first post, the drivers that someone had linked to finally worked. I ran the downloaded 'conexant_audio_os2006203a.exe' file, it extracted itself and ran the setup file, however it didn't find any hardware to install the drivers for, so I cancelled it. Then I ran the update driver wizard from DM and forced it to use the INF file that the setup had extracted. That's all. And it worked.
muiz3 - i downloaded your driver package but i do not know how to unzip it. I tired winzip and winrar with no luck
mr_smartepants i posted my Audio Vista Audio driver above for you to look at.
I have the P105-S197 and i tried everything in this forum with no luck! I do not care about the modem i just want audio! Let me know what you need and i can get!
unzip? never unpack driverpacks( but if you want to look inside, it opens just fine with winrar,or 7zip)
And if no one tests test packs, why the discussion?

I'm confirming kwin37's "h*ll YEA!!!"post on 3/8/07 16:24:46 also works for the P105-S9337! Thanks, there's sound in XP now!
Well I give up for now. I flashed the BIOS from XP and uninstalled most of the hardware from DM and the modem or audio device still wont show up. I might reinstall XP tomorrow. Thanks everybody for your help. Keep it up.

Firstly, the DriverPacks do not have to get unpacked usually.
Secondly, if you still want to do that, use http://www.7-zip.org/.
It is OS, free and even more efficient than WinZip or WinRAR.
So I reinstalled XP, and it didn't recognize the devices until I installed update kb888111 (right up there with George Foreman grills, Google is the greatest invention of all times), then followed kwin73's latest instructions step by step and now I have sweet, sweet sound. The modem driver didn't take but I don't care. Thank you all for your help. Have a good one.
I don't usually post to forums, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for your efforts. I have SOUND in xp on my p105-s9337. The driver farmdog_2007 linked, plus the steps written down by kwin73 WORKED!!! I bought the laptop for "gaming"....and my frames per second were so unstable in Vista...I decided I'd rather play soundless in XP than deal with that. But now I don't have to. So--thanks again.
Can someone please test the test pack, otherwise it will never be in the next update of the pack!!!!!!!
I have a P105-S6227, I reinstaled XP and lol of course drivers didnt work.
andante_spianto, where did you find the extra drivers? how do i check what exact devices i have?
farmdog_2007 you got all working on your laptop? its the same as mine, please help me?
Anyone else willing to help? im almost crying here, vista BLOWS.
Are none of you listening to muiz3?
He's built you a custom driverpack and has asked about 4 times for people to test it but it seems nobody is listening.
Muiz3's test driverpack is here: http://rapidshare.com/files/19219549/DP … st.7z.html
I would test it, but I don't have access to the affected notebook.
Will someone please test this pack?

I gues they dont want this to be fixed
Hi all.
I have attempted the fix from the recommended steps and files listed above. So far I have managed to get the driver mostly installed. I can see it in the Device manager that the sound and modem drivers are listed, I can alter the volume properties. I'm still getting no sound.
The only discrepancy I had in the directions, was the forcing of the conexant driver at the end. For some reason, I does not see any devices when I use it.
If any one is willing to help me fix this, I'll provide whatever info you need.
Afterthought:
Might help to tell you the model of the laptop. It's a Toshiba Satellite P105-6177.
Thanks!

Ok since there is no interest in making this thing work in the driverpack.
Helmi this is getting oftopic, and has nothing to do with the packs anymore.
Please close for now.

Agreed, Nobody seems interested in testing the beta-pack or validating it's inclusion in the main pack.
CLOSED by request.
Shoot me a mail if you want this reopened (because you tested it or something...)
