Topic: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

A small list of new bugs has been reported for DriverPacks BASE 6.12 and they've all been fixed in this update, as you can see in the changelog at the bugtracker.

If you are using a different GUI language than English or Dutch, you'll get an error thrown at you because the translation isn't updated yet. Don't worry, it's just to WARN you for this. You can still use the DriverPacks BASE without any further problems or warnings.
The reason for not waiting for updates from the translators is simple: this update fixes some critical bugs that prevented the Finisher from working properly. Functionality fixes have a higher priority than translation updates.

Still some bad news though: apparently I didn't replace the flawed DriverPacks BASE 6.12 with its patched brother, in which the auto-updating issue was solved. Which means you still can't use that functionality to update from 6.12 to 7.01. It however really is fixed in version 7.01. I'll eat my hat if it isn't.

UPDATE:
Version 7.01 has already been replaced by 7.01.1 due to a small typo (see issue #304) that caused the DriverPacks BASE to crash. If you already have 7.01, the auto-updating to 7.01.1 should work without a problem.

Download the new version!

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

Hi Bashrat,

big bug with 7.01:

It does not integrate the masstorage pack !! Txtsetup.sif does not contain any entries and the slipstreaming finishes much quicker than base 6.12.

I tried two times:

twice with base 6.12 ... everything normal
twice with base 7.01 .... no masstorage drivers get integrated.

Heres the logs:

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

Hi again,

same goes for 7.011.exe ! :-)

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

Very strange, I did not experience this with 7.01 and I just reinstalled my system (which would not have worked w/o the MSDP).
I not not clear out the QuickStream Cache before, though, maybe it's linked to that?

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

@midiboy: this has been reported already, but I haven't got the slightest clue on what could cause this. Check this new feature in the next development version of the DriverPacks BASE however: http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=308. This is already working and muiz & ruudboek are working very hard on getting the Silicon Image problem (with the 3112r and apparently also the 3132) solved, so a new MassStorage DriverPack will be there very soon, which will immediately solve this weird bug as well.

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

Hi Bashrat,

thanks. The link did not work but I think I found the issue 308 by searching for it. Well, I can keep using base 6.12 in the meantime, no problem.

Helmi: I did not use the Quickstream Cache :-)

If you need more info to reproduce this problem, just drop me a line ! :-)

Bye,
Alex

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

Hi Bashrat,
sorry but I also have some question. Are the problems with the nvidia nforce drivers finally fix t? Or will the driver work without BSOD in the new DriverPack release? And are you still working on the BartPE integration? I love to see that! smile
Sorry I know i am impatient...
But i like your pack and the idea it is really great, especially because it is now open source. smile

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

I'm having the same problem, mass storage text mode drivers are not integrated. Is there a workaround for this? Is there any way to revert to an old version until this is fixed?

EDIT: I found 6.12 laying around and installed it...but this time I got an error saying adpu160m .sys could not be compressed. Note the there is a space between "adpu160m" and the ".sys".

Since it worked for me at least once before using 6.12, I can only assume that it's a problem with the QSC, so I'm deleting that and I'll try again. If that doesn't fix it, it may have something to do with the RyanVM update pack.

Re: DriverPacks BASE 7.01.1 - UPDATE

If this is indeed an incompatibility with RyanVM's update pack, is it possible to install the drivers first and the update pack second?

Yes it is possible but if RyanVM overrides the txtsetup.sif or winnt.sif it might wont work in this order. It depends what RyanVM is editing in these files.

If you need more testing on this, I would love to help out.  I'm awaiting the new DP MS (and thus new DP BASE) with little patience ;-).

Some other news (related to DP MS) : new version Intel Matrix Storage Manager 6.2.1.1002 (in case you didn't know yet). Ingore if not important :-).

Please post such driver requests in the appropriate forum (after having checked no one else has already done the same).
This makes it much easier to keep track of them and won't get overlooked wink

Also, please include direct links to the driver file (ZIPped or similar preferred, however, if only available, EXEs work, too) as well as a possible changelog.

@Helmi : OK will do so in the future.
