I installed CCC, but it gives some memory error (The instruction at 0x7814507a referenced memory at 0x0023e000. The memory could not be read)
?nyway, I try it before with no success.

The only driver that I have for Asus monitor is EzLink (usb video driver). It transfer video signal trough usb, and load CPU (when I start video in full screen CPU usage is 35-40%). You can see it on

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx

(Asus VW223B, WinXP)

I will send email to asus support, just to see what they will tell me. Maybe the video signal from the VC is with the resolution from the laptop lcd and the card can't output two different resolution or something.

Thank you very much for the help and driver modification.

I am downloading it and will report soon.

After test
---------------------------------------------
Can change resolution but not OK

Tested in "DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_910rc1"
with edited CX_76831.inf

This is what I done:

Download compressed CX_76831.inf, decompress it and put it to DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_910rc1 in folder \D\G\A

Uninstall all video drivers

Restart

Windows find video hardware (X1400) and install it with the tested inf

Windows find another hardware (monitor) and install it as Plug and play monitor (not recognized as Asus VW223B)

Restart

Change laptop lcd resolution to 1280x800@60Hz@32Bit color, Apply, Result:OK

Change second monitor Asus VW223B resolution to 1680x1050@60Hz@32, Apply, Result:Not OK

After hitting Apply the resolution get back to 640x480@60@8

On Advanced\Monitor try to check "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display", but it is not active

On Advanced\Adapter\List all modes set 1680x1050@60@32, but after Apply and Ok the resolution remain 640x480

There is no Catalyst Control panel and the two monitors are in clone mode (same on both)

----------

Change mode to "Expand my Windows desktop onto this monitor"

The resolution and color depth can be changed to 1680x1050@60@32 but the screen doesn't fit in the monitor, when I get close to the border of the monitor it slide.

Restart, but no effect.
Can be done without slide?
Any needed log or something?

[REQ]

I begin to follow the steps from [TUTORIAL] ATI Mobility widescreen support (changing resolutions), but my video card is not in the mobility ini file (as in step 6 of the tutorial).

I use some unknown laptop brand "Turbo-X" with Elitegroup Mainboard, Ati Mobility Radeon X1400 128Mb and 15.4" screen with native resolution 1280x800.
I added second display Asus VW223B with desire to use it as a "big working place" monitor. It has some usb driver with good quality, but it is not supported by some programs I use. That's why I have to use VGA interface, but there is the problem. I can't set 1680x1050 resolution for Asus monitor.
