Great, the 10.0.7 stable version worked!
They were detected 2 "Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II monolithic driver" NICs.

Thank you very much for your support!

Thank you, I will test it and let you know.

P.S. Do you know that the MS IE SmartScreen reports http://driverpacks.sytes.net/driverpacks/Nightlies/ as being a malware web site?
I tried reporting them it's safe, but nothing changed (at least in my case).
Mozilla Firefox doesn't suffer from this odd issue.

Well, I was hoping it was fixed in the 1007 final.

I wasn't aware that DP_LAN 10.07 was released.
May I test the latest stable 10.07 or should I use the latest nightly?

Hi,
did you have any chance to set a fixed DP_LAN to test?
Thank you.

Unfortunately it didn't work, same error "Unable to install network adapters".

I downloaded and unpacked BASE 10.06 in my \plugin\DriverPacks.net folder .
Also I downloaded both DP LAN 10.05.1 and DP Mass Storage 10.06 in the \plugin\DriverPacks.net\BASE\DriverPacks folder.

Then I modified the DriverPack_LAN_wnt5_x86-32.ini file to read

ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="wxp,w2k3"

I ran DPs_Base.exe:
- the "UpdateChecker" confirmed both BASE and those 2 DriverPacks were up-to-date
- "Location" was set as the \plugin folder
- "Installation platform" was set as BartPE
- both "DriverPack LAN 10.05.1" and "DriverPack MassStorage text mode" were checked (DriverPack MassStorage was greyed)
- slipstreamed - OK

At last, I made the new build with W2k3 as source (after verifying that plugins # DriverPacks.net - LAN, 10.05.1 and Mass Storage, 10.06 were  enabled).
It works ok and install NICS on other machines, except on the HP one

OK, I will test tomorrow on my hardware, reverting to the default UBCD4WIN 3.60 lan.inf file and changing in L\B3

ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="wxp,w2k3"

Thank you for your support.

There is RIS driver included: b06nd.inf, B06ND51X.SY_

And a 2003 driver bxvbd.inf.

Both driver refers a PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_164C.
This may cause a conflict.

Try edit lan.inf

It worked! Both NICS were installed as "Broadcom BCM5708C NetXtreme II monolithic driver" (driver ver. 5.0.0.0 - 28/04/09 - unsigned).
Thank you very much!

Any idea for fixing this issue or regarding driver "mix"?

I just tested the recently released UBCD4WIN 3.60 and unfortunately it doesn't fix the HP NC373i & NC373T issue with its included DP_LAN drivers.
I didn't test updating both Base and DP_LAN (but it doesn't seem to me that this issue hasn't been handled anymore).

Does anyone know which LAN and Mass Storage driverpacks have been included in the default build?

Also, as the old UBCD4WIN 3.22 with its included Net drivers v. 2.05 works OK, does anyone know if I could in some way "merge" DP_LAN with those drivers (at least only with the working HP one) and fix this problem?
Thank you for any help.

Hi,
do you have updates on this issue?
I know that UBCD4WIN 3.60 is in the beta status, do you know if it fixes this bug in some way?

I don't know if it can be of any interest in finding a solution to this issue, but UBCD4WIN 3.22 (latest is 3.50) with its included Net drivers v. 2.05 and no DP_LAN works fine with my HP NC373i and NC373T NICs.

I just tested DP_LAN 10.03.12, but I have the same issue...

Hi,
any news for my issue? I didn't test latest DP_LAN.
Thank you for your support.

I don't know if this can help, but the bxvbd.inf added in the plugin\DriverPacks.net\LAN\wnt5 folder is still the D\L\B3 one, not the D\L\HP1 one.
And, apart from having previously tested the HP driver in place of the Broadcom one without success, does it depend from the 2 set of files having the same names, although contained in different folders?
Sorry for my newbie questions...

It didn't fix the issue. Moreover I had the following popup from PE network configurator:
"Cannot make a visible window modal".
In the UBCD4WIN event viewer, apart from the previously mentioned 2 errors (source nvgts5 and nvgts6, both event IDs 4, no description), I had a new error, source Application popup, event id 877, description:
"Error [DATABASE NOT LOADED] during processing of drivers database".

Thank you very much: waiting for 1002r4 to be downloadable to test it!

Edoardo

Hi Jeff,
unfortunately I have always the "Unable to install network adapters" error. I used W2k3 Ent Sp2 (no R2) as source.

Edoardo

Hi, is there any update on this issue? Let me know if I can help.
Thank you.

Edoardo

Thanks to you too for your support. I hope that a fix could be found.

Is it of any relevance that the UBCD4Win Device manager reports IDs in PCI\VEN format, while Windows one reports them in B06BDRV\L2ND format?

Edoardo

Bad news: even replacing all files I have the same error.
On the UBCD4WIN System event log I have 2 errors (event ID 4 - Source nvgts5 and nvgts6 - No description).
NICs are showed in the UBCD4WIN device manager as System devices with an exclamation mark (The specified device isn't properly configured (code 1).
I don't think so, but do you need HW/compatible IDs as reported by the UBCD4WIN device manager?

OverFlow wrote:

Ok, I will try replacing all files (I tested replacing only those two using regular w2k3, but it doesn't work, same "Unable to install network adapters" message).

OverFlow wrote:

OK Jeff, I will use BASE to create the plugin. Just to be sure, is it correct if first I replace in the latest nightly (9.12.130) lan pack only bxvbdx.sys and bxvbd.inf files in the \D\L\B3 folder, update the .7z file, configure BASE to create the plugin and rebuild?

OverFlow wrote:

It is better for us if you update the pack and use DriverPacks BASE to create a new plugin then build, because it will tell us if adding that driver fixes it for everyone, We like it when we can provide a particular fix to our entire audience... Glad to be helpful, testing it's the minimum I can do.

OverFlow wrote:

OK, however I will test both OSes and report.

Edoardo

Hi,
is there anything else I could try to fix this?
Do you think that updating bxvbdx.sys and bxvbd.inf files with HP downloaded versions could be OK (I didn't try this)?
It is odd that both NICs' Compatible and HW IDs format (not the usual PCI\VEN_) as reported by Device Manager is different from what is reported by the HWIDs tool.  Does it depend from Broadcom NIC teaming ?

Edoardo
