Thanks, guys for quick responses smile
Unfortunately - I have lots of preinstalled software on that image... thus it could take considerable time to reinstall'em... is there any way to substitute old driverpacks (KTD) with new one?

Hello.
Sorry for probable double-posting (just not sure if I posted it in the right thread). Details are here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=2137

Thanks in advance.

Well... I have an universal image I restore to various hardware. Last driverpacks I've used there was issued for an year ago.
So, I've decided to update them. I use driverpacks for Mass Storage, LAN, Chipset and AMD Cpu.
The problem is - that I'm getting constant reboots on Intel Chipsets (on one platform at the very beginning - before sysprep mini-setup is launched, on other - after all hardware detected) - BSODS (the one I've noticed was 0x00000024 error). As far as I have tested - this happens only on Intel chipsets - NVIDIA, VIA and SIS seems to work perfectly.
What I did:
1. Unpacked my source image to clean HDD.
2. Removed %SystemRoot%\DriverPacks directory.
3. Slipstreamed driverpacks to WXP SP2 Source on Hard Drive on another computer (using method 1 and enabling KTD for ALL drivers)
4. Copied this files and directories to C:\ (System drive) of recently restored system:

ATICCC.ins
D
devcon.exe
DPsFnshr.exe
DPsFnshr.ini
DSPdsblr.exe
makePNF.exe
mute.exe
pmtimer.exe

5. Copied and overwrited respective files from %CDdrive%\$OEM$\$$\INF to %Systemroot%\Inf
6. Launched DPsFnshr.exe to enable KTD (though, I needed to press "Continue installation" for multiple times - Driver Signing Policy disabler was not working).

Any help?
Or if possible - tell me how can I properly update already installed driverpacks (or re-install new ones) to target system?

Thanks in advance.

just to bring more clearance - I need to extract my drive image, replace previously integrated KTD with new one and pack'em back to image

hm... so what should I do with already integrated driverpacks before applying KTD ?

Bashrat, thanks for quick reply.

Actually, I'm using mini-install durnig first reboot time - so the search for hardware starts automatically.
I'm just aware - what should I do with previous driverpacks (in %WINDIR%\DriverPacks directory) and respective registry entries - will they be properly erased/upgraded etc. ?

Just for more clearance - I'm going to unpack my image to test computer, update driverpacks (along with some other things) and create a new image for further use...

Greetings.

I have partition image with winXP sp2 - universal one (I do restore of it to various hardware configurations).

But - driverpacks I have there are quite outdated, so I'd be happy to hear how can I overwrite them (not to slipstream) - perhaps just copy D directory and simply run finisher or ... ?

Thanks in advance smile

thanx for info... usually I don't pay much attention to aesthetical bugs (especially like this - invisible to user) wink

unfortunately, I was unable to register on bugtracker - "Zero Sized Reply" - so excuse me - can't fulfill your request sad

Bâshrat the Sneaky
well... it seems to be ok - no errors in log
you rock! wink

the only one question to get myself confident - "C:\Windows\DriverPacks\D\D\..." - is it normal path to driverpacks?

@jtdoom
well... it's for the reason - I want to use english input locale by default - and russian as second one...
though it also buggy - I duplicate this settings via regopts.txt applied via WPI (very last stage):

[RegionalSettings]
MUILanguage=0419
MUILanguage_DefaultUser=0419,00000419
LanguageGroup=5,1
SystemLocale=00000419
UserLocale=00000419
InputLocale=0409:00000409,0419:00000419

it's along with applying some registry tweaks for codepages...

Strange indeed, 'cos I've extracted DPsFnshr.7z and driverpacks along with .ini to %systemroot% (exactly as I did before), executed finisher and received the same error (Bâshrat the Sneaky - I know - I haven't been told to do this... I decided to try it myself wink )

It's clear, I'm talking about latest 6.09 BASE available...

thanx for quick reply wink
recover faster - we need you smile

Bâshrat the Sneaky
noticed a driverpack 6.09 - does it fix this issue?

sad to hear. hope you get better quick wink

Bâshrat the Sneaky
thanx for info... and if you need more information to find cause - feel free to ask wink
I have some computers to execute installs and other tests

@Bâshrat the Sneaky - so you need any extra information I could provide?
And another question - could finisher be executed via cmdlines.txt before MUI is integrated?
(to get rid of possible conflicts with locale), although I've got following strings in winnt.sif:

[RegionalSettings]
    LanguageGroup=5,1
    SystemLocale=00000419
    UserLocale=00000419
    InputLocale=0409:00000409,0419:00000419

Bâshrat the Sneaky
I've tried to go fastest way before - just to copy everything to %systemdrive% and run finisher...

After that - I've done as you said - overwrited bin\DPsFnshr.7z, and executed all integration process again... recreated ISO, burned CD-RW and done new installation from it

still got nothing new in finisher's log...

My locale is 0419 - Russian. I'm using english WXPsp2 and Russian MUI is integrated via cmdlines.txt:

".\Mui\muisetup.exe /i 0419 /d 0419 /l /r /s"

well, as in melombar's case and mine... bug seems to not depend from KTD variable... logically - something happens with finisher itself...

melombar, could you please post here - what kind of distributive are you using? (what is XP version and what actions did you performed with it - such as NLite and so on?)

Try to look here - it should help:
http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/produ … -recovery/

Well... same error... even using ROE.exe (as BASE pack does itself)...

Variants are over atm... Can't see any further ways to fix it out...

Bâshrat, do you need any other information from me to resolve it? I'll do my best wink

Unfortunately, result is the same... error in log...
Well - I'll try to redo entire process once more... using runonceex method of running finisher...
I've noticed some interesting files in bin directory:

 Directory of D:\Downloads\123\bin\wnt5_x86-32

04.09.2006  20:01    <DIR>          .
04.09.2006  20:01    <DIR>          ..

25.08.2006  04:03           199 751 M2.7z
25.08.2006  04:03           180 815 ROE.exe

first 2 archives I guess are hotfixes, which already has been integrated via RyanVM update pack... (i've looked through svcpack directory)

Bâshrat, maybe it's because I do my integrations on Win 2003 sp1 platform? (it's unlikely, but I don't see any other possible way to cause... due the finisher runs on final system WXP SP2)

hmm... I'll try to execute finisher BEFORE WPI is executed...
using following runonceex.cmd:

cmdow @ /HID
@ECHO OFF

for /f "delims=: tokens=1" %%i in ("%~dp0") do set drive=%%i:
set wpipath=%drive%\wpi

SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx

REG ADD %KEY%\937 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\DPsFnshr.exe" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\999 /V 1 /D "%wpipath%\WPI.hta" /f

EXIT

results are coming...
