Thanks man but if it wasnt for the driver packs and ur team, i wouldnt be at this stage right now. I would still be making copies of windows xp discs and probably patching with the DriverPacks base program. You guys are doing an amazing job helping out people and i hope you guys keep doing it for a very long time. You have no clue how much you guys have been a help for me. To be honest i have been wanting to use xp from the day i bought my new pc which was about 6 months ago. Vista is really annoying especially cause i got a crappy video card with my pc and i cant afford to buy a good graphics card atm sad Thanks soo much again. If i ever see anyone like me with the same problem, i am gonna help em out and give them the right info like you guys did to me.

but the last 2 times i tried with windows xp sp2 without any driverpacks, it went passed all those blue screens and it even copied all the files from the cd into the partition with xp...... and then everything stopped working.... after the reboot neither xp loaded up or did vista.... I dont know why that happened

i have all my partitions set up smile All i have to do now is to install xp in someway cause i even have the cd with every single driverpack smile But i am scared that it might screwed up again sad I am just trying to find more information from google and reading stuff about how to install xp on a different partition sad Should i take the risk now anyways with the cd and all the driverpacks? If i screw up i will have to do a system recovery again :'( I dont have a floppy drive so i cant load the drivers by pressing F6 during the installation... but isnt that why the driverpacks are there for? they are gonna load all the drivers, if they match my drivers, automatically right?

i searched on google for installing xp on a preinstalled vista and they all say the same thing. But none of them have any proper information about installing xp on a preinstalled vista with sata hard drive. They tell u to make a partition first through vistas built in disk management and then pop in ur xp cd  and using vista boot loader after xp is done installing and thats about it. I tried doing that and failed 2 times sad But this was with a normal windows xp cd without any of those driverpacks. So what are the good chances of it working with the cd with the driver packs? If i had an external hard drive i would be able to backup my stuff but i dont so the only option i have is to try from the partition way or else i would have formatted the whole hard drive and started fresh. When i got my pc it came in 2 partitions, 1 with vista and the other partition for vista recovery. So if i erase the whole disk then i am loosing my vista recovery too sad

My sata driver on vista right now is this "Intel(R) 82801HR/HH/HO SATA RAID Controller". Is that the same for xp?

yes i got it working on the virtual pc with all the driver packs into 1 cd but i am still worried about some stuff. Do i have to format my whole hard drive to install xp or is it going to be ok if i partition my hard drive for xp and then try installing xp on it? I have a Samsung 400 GB SATA hard drive and the previous time i tried installing it with a normal windows xp cd without any driver packs installed and stuff ( the original windows xp cd with service pack 2) on top of vista, it copied all the xp files onto the xp partition and then it never booted up or loaded the xp files so basically i couldnt go to vista or xp because none booted up and i had to do a full system recovery. So is there any chance of the same thing happening? Thanks.

Oh and thank you soo much for actually taking time to read through my problems. I really appreciate it.

I dont know why but after slipstreaming it with sp3 its giving me the warning - Could not slipstream KB888111 because Service Pack 1 or 2 isnt slipstreamed. This happened when i was on the final step of slipstreaming with the DriverPacks Base program. I am taking this as not such a big deal. Its not gonna cause any problems right?

yea i am doing that all the time. After every try i fail, i made a new copy of the disc folder and start over again. Oh and thanks for telling me the mfplat.dll. I tried adding windows media player 11 with the media player integrator and i guess it failed sad. Guess i am deleting that for now cause i want to avoid as much as errors possible right now smile

oh so i just downloaded the sp3. I am going to slipstream it and then try to use the DriverPacks and see if there is any change. I will also try putting the QSC on for method 2.

but how would i use nlite first? Dont u have to use ur DP Base to put the drivers into the windows xp folder and then i take that folder and use it with nlite to burn it into a cd right?

OHHHHHH wait..... are you trying to say that i am supposed to make a bootable CD with nlite first and then put the files using DriverPacks?????????!!!!!!!

Sorry, what do u mean? I tried that same CD before without DriverPacks first and it worked normally in virtual pc and after i install the driverpacks it seems to give me that error sad Any clue why?

ok sure ive got all the time to wait. I just wanna install xp somehow and ive got all the patience. Yea i think i put the QSC off cause on the DP Base Tutorial it said for Method 2 put QSC is off so thats what i did. I tried running it on a virtual pc as you recommended to test the iso which i made with nLite. I didnt burn it on a CD yet. Thanks

i got an error message saying that si3112r.sys could not be found. Press any key to restart your computer. I am not sure why that happened. I followd ur DPs_Base information step by step.

ok so i am assuming that if i follow ur DP base tutorial with the drivers pack its gonna work if i do it properly? Are the drivers in the driverpack all the drivers i need for my installation for xp in an sata hard drive? I am going to try doing the DriverPacks tutorial.

Hi i am new to this website and i am new to all drivers etc. I have an Hp Pavilion Media Centre Pc and i got vista preinstalled with it. I want to downgrade it to xp and i tried doing it once but i ended up screwing up and had to use my recovery cds to reinstall vista cause i couldnt boot it up to xp or vista. I have an SATA hard drive and i have no floppy drive on my pc. My motherboard is asus L5BW-LA and on the asus website i cant find that model number. It looks like the motherboard is specially made for hp pcs. How can i find the drivers and how do i put it into my windows xp cd? Can someone help me please cause vista is really annoying and is too slow. Help would be really appreciated. Thanks
