OK.

So what Hardware Fire Walls to you like / have faith in / use / have experience with?

Any you would not consider / fall sort / would NOT recommend / don't like?

I truly don't get it.

On a lark, I tried the link above in this thread.

Even with the yourserver.name, the darn thing worked, for me!

Just don't know.
Thanks though!

Thanks very much for your time and efforts.

I cleared the Temporary Internet Files.
I checked, manually, to see only a ton of cookies left.

Still no joy, for me.

I'm sorry to keep bugging you.
In the web page I get to view, there is still the "yourserver.name" text embedded in the "simpleCND.com" link.

Got an alternative way / URL I can reach that 804 MassStorage driver pack file, that is getting 40 hits per minute?
Please feel free to use an alternative delivery method, to keep that link quiet.

Sorry I haven't figured out what's wrong and to still be bothering you!  sad

My apologies.
I don't think I made my initial post easy enough to understand?  sad
(I have now edited it, to make the embedded error portion of the URL clearer:
http://yourserver.name/DP_MassStorage_w … 32_804.7z)

I cannot *DOWNLOAD* the MassStorage pack, in the first place.

The silly *DOWNLOAD* link has some sort of typo issue, I think.

I've tried guessing likely URL fixes, but didn't hit a winner.

The two of you working too hard, keeping everything you're juggling, in the air?

Sorry to have discovered one more (small) issue that needs to be adjusted.  sad

final link to mass storage driver pack still not yet fixed.
web page: http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ … .php?pag=m

The bad link is at the bottom of that web page:
http://dl3621.simplecdn.com/autocdn/dri … -32_804.7z

(embedded error: http://yourserver.name/DP_MassStorage_w … 32_804.7z)

The "yourserver.name" is template text that needs to be corrected?

And, if the structure is similar to LAN804, probably also needs a "MassStorage804" (or some such name) directory between yourserver.name and DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_804.7z ?

I think I need the updated version, because I'm currently battling some sort of Silicon Image softRAID issue.

This has been outstanding for several days.  sad

Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

Yes, I did try to explicitly fix the URL.
I suspect that link might also need a "MassStorage" or "MassStorage804" directory also in that link?
(The LAN804 did, as I remember)

No go.

Seems like the referrer / "sneaky" stuff to avoid non-site (driverpacks.net) linking also has the effect to block that?

Does the link, with any adjustments, work for you / others, at this time?
(http://dl3621.simplecdn.com/autocdn/dri … -32_804.7z)

For the final URL to download the mass storage driver pack.

There is a small error.

The URL has the template text "yourserver.com"

That needs to be corrected to: "driverpacks.mirror.thesneaky.com" .

At least, I think that is the error preventing downloading the mass storage driver pack.

Thanks!!!

Sorry to be so slow on the uptake.

What needs to be different, to avoid:
"Leech Warning
To make an end to the never-ending leeching problem, I had to set up a download restriction, which prohibits you to download the DriverPacks unless you are using any of the valid download links present on this website.

If you are using the download links available on this website, you may want to disable certain firewall options which may be blocking referrers, and therefore redirecting you to this page incorrectly.

Proceed to DriverPacks downloads overview"

Guess it has to do with DDoS attacks on the download server?

What needs to be done?
WinXP SP2
ZoneAlarm
Windows standard stuff (FireWall, Defender, ...)
AVG anti-virus
animated gifs turned off
FlashSwitch - Flash normally off
Google pop-up blocker
