Thanks for all your help! big_smile

I tried installing Windows server 2008 R2 on my new box today (and yesterday!) and had some major problems getting the LAN adapter to install. Tried pretty much every single driver out there, and nothing. Not even Intel's generic drivers worked. Tried the dirver packs, and still nothing.

After getting some help from TechDud in finding the real model number for the chip I was able to find the following fix: http://communities.intel.com/message/161157#161157 . Basically, they just fix the inf to allow installation of server OSs on desktop boards.

Cheers!

EDIT: This is the driver I used - "PROWinx64.exe" from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_ … inx64.exe+

Thanks! Thanks to that, I was able to find this solution which fixed it!

Sorry, forgot to include the device id for the first adapter in my original question. Here's the link to the hwid page: www.pcidatabase.com/search.php?device_search_str=1503&device_search.x=0&device_search.y=0

Thanks smile

Any ideas on how to find a working LAN driver?

Ok, so the two drivers I needed for my installation that I couldn't find manually are still unknown. The most important, the ethernet controller, has the device id of "Intel core 2 cpu" (Chip Description: "Gigabit Network Connection").

The other one comes out as "USB\VID_0BDA&PID_0129\20100201396000000                     : USB2.0-CRW".

Anyone know how to solve these? It would be much appreciated! smile

Thanks! If this work, I'll donate the money I'd otherwise had to spend on a usb network adapter smile

Oooh...first post! wink

Hope that doesn't mean this forum's dead, becuase I really, really, REALLY need it to get my box up and running...

So, are there any driverpacks for Lan that works with win2k8? Is it possible to install it after installing the OS, or do I need to reinstall?
