OverFlow, as a follow up to this, I've found:

If I were to make a BartPE disc and slipstream the DriverPack into it, would this fix my problem? (Ie; would it allow me to install the Mass Storage controllers to my failed boot drive?)

On a side note, I'm still trying to get my head around BartPE and OfflineSysPrep, so I haven't given it a shot yet (And I've been pretty busy)

Thanks,

OverFlow, you're amazing!

That tool sounds like it'll do the trick. I'll give it a shot later this afternoon. Many thanks!

Unfortunately, the reason why we're restoring to other hardware is because the original machine has failed.

Many thanks for your help. =]

Thanks for the help.

I have a few quick questions though, firstly; There's no 'Windows Source' for the recovery I'm trying to do, so I'm not sure if I can use your suggestion OverFlow.

Secondly, It appears you're right Jaak. There IS a DBB folder that seems to be full of drivers. And strangely enough, it appears as though it may already contain the drivers I require.

The driver I am trying to install is an nVidia nForce 4 driver.

I hear this is a particularly tricky driver to work with.

The DDB folder already contains TWO nForce folders, one for a plain nForce controller, the other for an nForce RAID controller.

Is there any information anyone can shed on what may be the problem and how I can go about fixing this?

So far, the only idea I can come up with is to restore it onto an IDE drive, install all the drivers for the changed hardware, including the RAID controller, create a new image from this machine and restore it to the SATA RAID. This seems pretty long winded and time consuming, so if I can get BESR to recognise the RAID that'd be great.

Thanks very much.

Hi everyone,

Lately I've been attempting to restore an image of a non-raid (ie; single IDE drive) to our new server at work which has a SATA RAID by using Backup Exec System Restore. BESR is meant to be able to restore to another machine of different hardware and prompt you for drivers.

The problem I'm having is that I need to load drivers for the raid controller BEFORE BESR loads (I can load them fine once in the GUI) in order to do my restore properly.

Is there any way I can integrate a DriverPack with my BESR boot disc?
