I have some problems with the sound packs that do not seems to be fixed yet. The first one is for a Asus P5PE-VM motherboard I have reported this before it used to just blue screen with the portcls.sys error now the install works but it's using the wrong drivers it's installing the Vinyl AC'97 sound drivers and should be using the Soundmax drivers. Here are the HWIDS

Sorry I don't remember the exact error message but it said something that the .exe was not a windows program file and just crashed.... Sorry I don't have the exact error message if I could re-download the old 7.01.5 version I could try the update again.

Thanks,
Dean

I just tried to update to the new DP 7.01.6 and it fails..... It looks like it might be the language folder not being updated??? It deleted the old version and never installed the new version so I downloaded and unzipped it copied the DP.exe over to the old folder and it complained about the Language folder so I copied that over and all seems to be working now.... Running a test right now.

Hm, interesting, it is trying to CAB compress a .sys file while DP MassStorage is not even present, nor did you enable it to be slipstreamed... Will try to reproduce this.

Could this also be linked to the QSC directory needing to be cleared after a base pack update? That is what I found to be the problem with the missing atiide.sy_ in the MassStorage DP?

Thanks,
Dean

Ok I can confirm now the problem is with the QSC directory needing to be cleared out after and base pack update. I just cleared the original directory I was working in and all is working as it should be.

Thanks,
Dean

Ok I get the same problem... Here is what I have found so far I think the problem my be in the base pack update feature. I downloaded and new copy of the base and extracted it in a new directory and copyed the same diverpacks over and retested the slipsteam and all seems to be fine now? This might be why Bâshrat the Sneaky can not duplicate this I would think he has a new build not an update but I could be wrong about that....

Could it also be that the QSC folder needs to be cleared after and update to the base pack? because the Massstorage textmode DP is stored there after the first run right?

Thanks,
Dean

Are you using the MassStorage driver pack?

@Friends4U,

I tested the new dp Base 7.01.4 in combination with DP masstorage 7.01 and the new nightly of DP masstorage. I cannot reproduce this error.
What version of the Driverpack masstorage where you using?

I am also using the Latest version of all packs and base. I would have no problem testing the latest nightly build of the new DP masstorage pack.

Thanks,
Dean

Ok Ok no problem keep up the good work… and thanks alot for all your hard work in your spare time. Once again I do appreciate all your hard work.

Thanks,
Dean

I should have expected a reply like this…. This is why people never contribute to projects like these well I do contribute and will continue to do so. I will also try to make my own driverpacks but that is not what I was trying to point out why release something that breaks something else in the project? Oh well guys and gals keep up the excellent work and I will continue to support you the best I can.

Thanks again for all your hard work,
Dean

Hi,

I am not trying to complain this is an excellent project. But why would you release and new base pack and not the supporting driverpacks at the same time this makes no sense. I tried to use the new base pack but seeing how there is a problem with the masstorage pack I can not use the new base? I know you said the new masstorage pack is coming but why not just wait to release them together? As a supporting member I just wanted to give you some feed back.

Thanks,
Dean
