If the new mass storage supports AHCI mode, I'd love to test it.  Right now I have to set to IDE mode in the BIOS.  Would also like to test the new WLAN pack.

I'm planning on doing another clean build after you've had a chance to update the wlan pack.  I'll make sure those files are gone.  Thank you.

It was in the BartPE's os respective drivers folder along with the respective INFs in the INF folder.  I was wondering why they were even there.  Let me know if you want me to test the wlan driver packs.

I just poked into the netathwx.inf file and at the very top I saw the NTAMD64 line which made wonder why it was there.

Hi,
I ran into a strange thing today.  I rebuilt my boot disk with the latest driver packs and now when I boot, my wireless isn't recognized.  Device Manager shows "Network Controller" with an exclamation point.

If I right-click, select Update Driver and then have it try to install the driver automatically, it detects two Atheros 9285s.  I wondered about the one ending in X, i.e., ATHWX.SYS and the INF file seems to indicate it's for AMD processors.

Any ideas why the device isn't being recognized after the refresh?  Can having that second driver for AMD be the problem?  Any ideas?  When I add the correct one, i.e., ATHW.SYS, it installs but I don't get the wireless device under Network Connections and I can't get it added or configured which is very strange.

That's pretty much what I figured since I kept seeing it available for Win7 but not XP which was a bummer since UBCD4WIN is still XP.  I really appreciate you looking into it.

Hello,
I've looked and looked to try to provide a link for this but I just can't find a driver for XP for this model.  It would be fantastic to see it in the driver packs if someone knows how to get it.

Let me know if you need any more information.  The card is in an ASUS NJ71q notebook.  Thank you.

I wanted to follow up after getting the latest driver packs, after this most recent update, and this adapter is now recognized.  Thanks so much.

Glad to help and thank you. smile

Here you go.

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_10891A3B&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_10891A3B
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&CC_0280

I wonder why the card isn't recognized by the newer driver.  I'll have to try to load it manually and see if it's there.

My apologies for this.  I thought I'd consolidate just what you needed for simplicity.  My problem is that I need the Win XP 32-bit driver for UBCD4WIN, however, ASUS only has the drivers on their site for Windows 7.  The driver files I provided were actually downloaded from another site that provides drivers in general.  Please let me know if you would okay with a link to that site.  Thanks much.  I did test these in UBCD4WIN and they work great.

To answer your question, yes, I just installed all the latest packages and rebuilt my UBCD4Win with all the new driver packages and the network LAN and WLAN were not recognized.  By the way, almost all the driver packs that were downloaded by the BASE program were corrupted.  I had to manually download them and place them in the appropriate folder.  Not sure why that happened.

[EDIT] Here's the link the file direct from Atheros: http://partner.atheros.com/Download.aspx?id=132
