Downloaded, tested and confirmed to be okay!
A full pass.

Thnx, good work.

(now i can go fishing)

Small answer: No

it says: hpcisss2.sys

got it, looks like its up and running now.
....
Nope, still a problem, but now during install: The file hpcisss2.sys could not be found.
Only choice now is restart after faillure.

you must fix it again! smile

Don't work to fast..
Here come's an error, third line from the bottom:

(i never learn, bounce my head over and over again at the same piece of wood on top of my stairs..)
And the best thing: you slimmed it down again!!

Let me know when i can do a final test for you, i'm ready to make a new full install cd, so i need it in real life now!

Why don't you think about these things sooner..!!  big_smile
(I allready wondered why AD9 came after S)

Solution: MassStorage,Current release v.7.12, moved all of the S4 sections to the very end of the ini file.

and again: Voila, it works as if.. it works!!
Well done Jaak, good thinking!

Now, can you make me a nightly with again the normal updated driver in section S4 and only the S4/S5 sections.
I mean without those S4a/b/c, S5a/b/c

Ill hope to see it soon and test it, after that you (maybe) can make a [SOLVED] in front of this thread.

I know, but i didn't have the time to keep up lately, so my driverpack test came late after you had it up allready so long.

So it's okay then, i use my latest "custom" one allready while you can make a final new one without the base drivers.
Besides that, it can explain why there were so many trouble in the past!

I'm sorry it didn't work out as good as we hoped for, but it was my pleasure to help you guys out. I was willing to donate in the past allready, but i don't have paypall and don't intend to use it in the near future. So the least thing i could do was this.

Jaak, you know my email adress and my hardware, feel free to mail me and ask somthing to put to the test.

Case closed i guess, Happy christmas to all !!

You guys rock!

7127 = still no joy, sorry Jaak

Again i opened that one up, removed entry + dir S4, and voila!
It runs smooth as a ... as a good MassStoragepack!

I have been looking around here, i promised Bashrat a long time ago to save a working disk i/he/us all made, but still can't find it.
On that disk was the latest pack before the 3112r H*LL started for the first time.
I suppose there are other (older) drivers on it which maybe can help out. For the S4 portion i mean. Hopefully i can find it back somewhere in messed up "office". If so, i can compare those for you.

For the mean time, what can i do to give it happy ending??

* I wonder, why does the slipstream with ONLY massStorage takes more time then almost all packs together?? (-1min or so) *

I'm sorry Jaak.
With your adjustments i still get the BSOD..

But when i remove the S4 entry and dir it works flawless!
In there is your problem device..

I go for some fishing now, done enough for this morning
So you have something on your hands now smile

Before i read your post about the S4/S5 changes i made the following testpacks:
1: without AD9 & S4 > went okay
2: without S4 > went okay

So it's definitly a problem with the S4 portion in DP MassStorage pack!

I just DL your new 7126 nightly package and will put it to the test with ALL driverpacks slipstreamed in it.
Will report back to you in about 20min or so.

It's looking good, i think we have the answer today!

There is some other small thing i don't get, but i will have to test it if my eye's don't play tricks on me.

I must say, i'm starting to like doing these things! (again)

For today, i leave it now with my own "custom nightly testpack" and will use all the other driverpacks with that one.
First i want to see if it works as it should with all the others.

Tomorrow, and probably the days after, i will do the elimination trick for you.
But i have one question left: How do i exactly identify the so called base drivers to skip those out first??

O' yeah, i have a confession to make.. i mentioned a raid-0 config.. that machine turned out to be a single drive only.. (but SATA)
My main machine, this one, has exactly same spec's, but the Raid-0 config..

sorry! big_smile

Hear you later.

The latest nightly didn't do the trick...

BUT, i made a custom one, removed all S sections and folders EXEPT S5.

That worked wonderfull, a full install was my part..
Now it's up to you to figure it out.

Jaak: You'll better go now, date, Rock'n Roll, drink but do not pass out.
We need your brains!  smile
(i have to wait for my party till the end of this day)

I'll do the test with your latest testpack.
MAYBE, i will try to edit one if it didn't work.
we shall see if i manage to make a custom one.

enjoy yourself.

1: Instand bsod AFTER 1st reboot.
2: Raid-0 config (2x 120GB)
3: Bios version 4.2.47 (integrated on my ASUS A7N8X-XE Deluxe mainboard)

You can find my setupapi.log here
This came from the last test i did last night with Nlite, worked good and used driver version 10.0.6.0

Hwid from that machine:

I think Jaak is right that perhaps the Base drivers mess things up.
Pointed Nlite at the "3112r" drivers with that test, nothing else!

Is it possible to make a "R"only testpack?
For me it is a piece of cake to test, so you'll now it fast if it works.

Just got back from a christmas party. . .

Again try'd your latest testpack.
I'm sorry jaak, still no go, same result: bsod

I also did the promised test with the latest drivers directly from the Silicon website.
Driverver=02/01/2007, 1.0.60.0, integrated with Nlite.
Those work also very well again, a full installation whitout a hitch.

Looks like there is still something very different between the way the driverpacks integrate and how Nlite does it.

Can i be of any service with files from that XPCD ??
If so, which one's do you need?

It's in your mailbox.

Hoi Jaak,

I've made a new XPCD with the MassStorage testpack you put online for us.
Only the the testpack, nothing else on the cd.

I'm sorry, after copying the files over and right first reboot... BSOD...

It didn't do the job as we would like to.

Tell me, how can i be of service?
(and i don't meean by handing over a christmas packet smile )

Okay i'm testing something right now, and it allready works, no BSOD so far, it's just installing fine!

- ASUS A7N8X-XE Deluxe Mainboard with a integrated SiI 3112 Sata controller
- SiI3112 Bios version: 4.2.47 (on screen showed during boot)
- Configuration is a Raid-0 set (with 2x 120GB)

Used Nlite on the following:
- XPpro, SP2 (english)
- Integrated driver version: 03/14/2006, 1.0.56.1 (directly from Sillicon website)

Nothing else, and it works pretty well.
But as soon as it comes with a driverpack..BSOD

What's next to do or what do you need from me?

I'm a bit lost...
What do you mean by downgrading?
The driver version or the Bios??

My bios version is 4.2.47
And guess what, when i let WINXP do a automatic check for new drivers (on my 2nd pc, same hardware) it found new drivers that are not listed by Sillicon!!

Driver Version 1.0.62.0

I've done a new XPCD with no joy..

Clean XPpro SP2, Integrated only the MassStorage pack with default settings.
Burned the thing with Nlite and pushed it in the drive.

Again..BSOD 0X..07B

Tomorrow i will try something i've done in the past to check it out:
Clean XPpro SP2 and only integrate the Sii3112R drivers with Nlite.

Lets see if that will work again, like it did for me last time.
That was at the beginning when we bounced forthe first time in to this problem.

Ill report back then.

Hi all, after a véry long time "offline" i hope i can dive right in here.

I suffer the same BSOD (again) as Usficcient with the Si3112r..

Still having the Asus a7N8X-E deluxe mainboard, Si3112 Bios says 4.2.47
(I haven't got a clue how to update it... maybe Jaak knows in Dutch..)

Current driver version: 1.0.56.1

Overflow mentioned "We have both driver versions in the packs and a routine to match them up" "for old bios/new bios"
I looked it up in the Supported Devices list of the MassStorage package, it only mentions about Bios version 4.x.84 !!

I will be around here because maybe i can do some testing again for you guys.
Let me hear what you need to know or to let me test, ill give it a go!

Update:

Clean XPsp2(UK) + 3112r version10.56.1 through Nlite.
Nothing else.

Results in a boot that CORRECTLY recognises the drives AND the current config of partitions!!
Same thing as you are trying to find out now with my old files i send you..

Did'nt do a complete install after the first portion of setup, because i need to get some sleep now off course.. smile
So don't know about BSOD, but my feelings say there won't be any.

I will send you the txtsetup.sif of this little test now and check back tomorrow here. (today that is..)

I want to, but how am a going to tell when it's allready updated at this time?? on my system here it's allready 1.0.56.0..
Can look on the cd, but don't know how to get the version from what and were...

Have the Si3112r.sy_ and si3112.sy_ if you want, but how am i going to tell which version they are...

I think i still have the XPCD here in my hands..
Must be from 30th may 2006.

Ill do a quick check if it boots and it recognises the drives/partitions, then it should be the right one.

Send it to you the way you asked me earlier, ASAP offcourse!

Be right back.

EDIT:

DONE!! it's in your box right now.

Did a quick boot from it and i see the things we all wanted to see. Drives are there and partitions are all in order the way they should.
Ill keep my fingers crossed now big_smile

Allready did that at the first post! big_smile

on my Asus a7N8X-E deluxe mainboard:
