Overflow is correct.  You must select the folder "that contains" the i386 folder.
Then below your folder path DriverPacks BASE will display the version of Windows that you have selected.
If you don't see that, then you didn't pick a valid source directory.

For your question regarding settings:
http://driverpacks.net/sites/driverpacks.net/files/docs_images/DPBase4.png
The DriverPacks BASE allows you to load different settings files for different types of builds.  This may save you time if you do lots of different tests (like us) so you don't have to check/uncheck all the different options for each settings page.  By default, DriverPacks BASE saves your previous run as DPs_BASE.ini and loads that automatically the next time you run it.  This gives you the option to "override" the default settings.
Hope that's more clear.

You answered your own question.

BTW, the absolute latest testing version of dpms is here:
link removed
But since there was very minor changes from 11.08 for Intel, it probably won't solve your problem, but it's worth a shot anyway.  For the test, please include ONLY dpms (with txtmode enabled) on a fresh XP source (to eliminate any bugs from previous builds).
I have a feeling I'll have to add your HWIDs manually.

Hello?
Does dpms 11.08 work?  Any of the nvidia test packs work?
@rafaelr, we can't fix anything unless you report back...

Nice thanks!

Yes, this is a known problem.  The script can't delete the C:\D directory while the script is running.  Very annoying.
I'll probably add a runonce registry edit to delete it on the next reboot instead.

Yes, if you have a torrent download utility already installed, just double click any .torrent file and the download will start automatically.
Once downloaded the file will have these attributes.
File: DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1108.7z
CRC-32: 5ab50a34
MD4: 2821d7ea195a3861ddeeedb629fedf10
MD5: 7edf6c217f2b685ea5a50f0dbe54db4a
SHA-1: d86efbd712a6e15da701c07fbf0dad5e64dcd6d8
Size: 7.34 MB (7,704,488 bytes)

@KickArse, I have a request.
Would it be possible to scan an .ini instead of .inf files?  I want to scan the dpms .ini and search for duplicated HWIDs.  Some of the LSI sections have nearly 200 HWIDs on a single line.  I can't do that manually. sad

instPlatform    = "StandAloneDrivers"
That's your problem.
You need to select "Disc" and point to your install source.

KTD        = "false"
You also want to enable KTD.  We normally discourage its use, but in your unique situation it would be beneficial.

Are you certain that you did not rename the dpms file?  The current version is "DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_1108.7z".
Are you also certain that is where your BartPE utilities are?  Not something like: C:\Tools\XP\UBCD4Win\plugin\DriverPacks.net\BASE\DriverPacks\

Maybe you should post in the authors' support forum and find out?
http://drp.su/

We only support DriverPacks integrated via DriverPacks BASE or with SAD2.  The utility you mention is not ours.

Thanks for the links Rick!  I think the Lenovo one is updated also.

I found a newer one for HP:

"Back to school" and "Black Friday" sales are coming up.  We should keep an eye out for good opportunities.
This topic has strayed way beyond anything to do with the Graphics packs.  Moving to a more appropriate area...

Yes.  Does the BSOD happen during a traditional DVD install?
At what point does the BSOD happen?  Before the drives are detected, or during the install process, or after install but before the desktop loads?

Mass Storage drivers can't be made into Third Party DriverPacks because of how DriverPacks BASE is written.  dpms makes very special changes to key boot files, no other DriverPacks make those special changes.  That's what allows the hard drives to be "seen" during setup.

So the drivers you attempted to use were from here? http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?M … M&o=XP
We REALLY need your HWID list though.  Use the tool linked in my signature.

BTW, the drivers supplied by ASrock are identical to the ones in dpms 11.08.
I think the problem is the difference between AHCI/RAID mode...or possibly the USB drive itself.

Technically, that would violate our own rules.
Rule #3

3. No user shall by any means of the forum: sell, trade or give away; hardware, software, or any other non consumer or electronic related material. DriverPacks.net does not support any type of trade, sale or gifting, and shall not be held accountable.

Donations is one thing.  Selling for profit is quite another.

PS:  have you updated any drivers for the older hardware (such as RT2400, RT2500 - USB or notUSB) from this topic, mr_smartepants?

No need.  They were already included.

No need to update a BIOS unless the new one fixes a problem that you are experiencing.  BIOS updates are very tricky and could permanently break your PC.

Having just learned what a HWID is anyway, it seems like a(nother) frustrating and extremely anal attempt at reducing piracy from microsoft - sigh.

HWIDs are HardWare IDs and only contain info to identify the manufacturer and device, not the user.  They contain VENdor, DEVice, and SUBSYStem codes.
a valid HWID will look like

PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_61121095&REV_02\4&1F7DBC9F&0&58F0
Name: Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller

I'm about to attempt to nLite the motherboard's Windows XP drivers into my XP installation and try again.

NO! STOP!  Do NOT use nlite!  We never recommend any user use nlite for drivers, the opposite in fact!  Nlite does drivers very messy and will compromise your XP build so that DriverPacks will never work unless you start over with a fresh source.
Did you even attempt to use DriverPacks as part of your XP integration?  You didn't mention it and you also didn't post any log files like we requested in the forum Rules (see my signature).
Please post your log files and HWID list so we can help you more efficiently.

I agree, but it's easily fixed in about 2 seconds with ctrl-H to replace A:\ridiculously\long\file\path\ with %blank%
